OK, so I spent the weekend labbing with both games and my conclusion is that if you aren't a big Franchise/Dynasty guy, NBA Live 10 is for you. The control you have over your players is so much better than 2K, which feels so slow and unresponsive.

2K does do some good things on the floor, especially the post game, but the Isomotion is terribly non-user friendly and the floor spacing in the half court game isn't as good as Live's.

2K's presentation is solid, and its commentary blows Live's out of the water. But, I will say that Live's crowd is better than 2K's.

Live obviously has issues that we've all discussed. The DNA does funky stuff at times and the CPU has a built-in advantage in terms of being able to pull off moves that the User typically can't.

That said, the game is just FUN. The control and court spacing make it just a blast to play. I'm sticking with Live. Going to work with 23 and try and get the rosters re-rated for Play Now and Dynasty games. I'll also be going back and playing some Dynamic Season games from time-to-time.

Obviously I'm just one guy (who flip flops a bit, especially when it comes to my favorite sport of hoops, lol) but out of the 2 games, Live is the more enjoyable experience this year.

I don't think the dynasty is that bad, I mean the only thing I don't like is the 82 games, I want to play 29 but I can live with it, EA just uupdated the salarise and stuff so I am kool with that.

The Be A Legend mode in The BIGS 2 had a really great end sequence. Not ending specifically just the whole sequence of games that had to be played etc. It's pretty hard to get anything like that unless it's set up though. They have to account for 30+ teams (create-a-team) to possibly win. NHL 2K10 did a really great job with the end as well.

That's quite an ambitious project, I'd love to see some video of how it works out.

And I agree. Head to head play, Live is one of my favorite games ever.

That's why I pray that for '11 online leagues are more fleshed out and user friendly.

I was lucky enough to get into a league with a solid group of guys, but it died out within a month because we couldnt customize anything.

People got hacked off when they realized that dynamic dna updates were effecting league play without any option.

I thought that was actually a pretty neat thing, but many people felt upset that there werent any options and they were stuck default sliders, schedules and settings...which made having admins pointless.

I'm BIG on GamePlay regardless of what mode, Online, Dynasty, season, Dynamic season... Live has the best GamePlay this year and I have not gotten tired of playing.

I bought 2K for the last 4 years but 2K10 has horrible gameplay this year. I can't keep playing a game just cause it "looks" good and there are nice animations.

NBA Live 10 plays a good game of basketball.

Online, isnt too engaging anymore since the majority of the people I play do not know DNA% so they only know how to shoot with maybe 1 or 2 players, and try to rely on forcing contact fouls with the Melo, Kobe and Lebrons of the world.

Online leagues fell flat because there just wasnt enough flexibilty and things to keep people engaged.

Dynasty Mode just doesnt have enough flavor.

I can only play so many dynamic season games. Dynamic season is a great game mode idea, but again..it doesnt have enough life.

The problem is that after a while..I found myself with not a lot to keep me engaged as a user, which is sad, because the overall gameplay is very good.

Exactly why I sold it and purchased 2k10. I'm holding out hope that Live 11 will be a stronger competitor. I liked a lot about Live 10 though.

I agree Live has the better gameplay, but 2k has more of the little things that add replayability.

I play offline dynasty with my friend we player lock one of us plays the big man and one of us plays the poing. I'm not really sure how you guys think this game has good gameplay. It's impossible to hit a 3, and then whenever I pass to a teammate they immediately jack up a shot. I'm trying to run a play and my 2 guard comes off a screen and shoots everytime what is that? The animations are so slow and heavy it completely ruins shooting and passing. And how many times can I have an open lane to the hoop to have someone come beside me then magically be in front of me altering the shot in perfect position? The game does some nice things, it feels really nice to go on a run but time and time again the computer plays defense atrociously. There are constantly men left wide open and my guy aimlessly standing on the top of the key.

Am I missing something or is it better without player lock?

a big reason most dudes have fun with the other game is they use custom rosters that they iron out 10 times a year. there is a roster project done recently that helps iron out some issues..

i have 4 different rosters for the other game and they all play differently most dudes have given up on nba today rosters because of the funkiness, but here we complain too much, i have changed my game for the better and so have them over there

dudes are doing spread sheets and editing their own game, if we made a spreadsheet for live people would rather bash ea than help themselves.

this game can get better,

Stop using generalizations. Not everyone has changed anything. You go into a roster sub-forum and you'll see people "doing work" for any game.

That has nothing to do with with why they are enjoying the game. You're kidding yourself if you genuinely think so.

Perhaps you should spend less time focused on why others are enjoying their game and start enjoying yours.

I happen to agree with that guy on the other page though carnal. a defaulted Live is a game that's more frustrating than fun for basketball. 2 patches and it plays 10 times worse than on release day, and that shouldnt be.

That needs to be accounted for, not just told to use a custom roster. That is a choice you dont have with this game.

To add to that, it shouldn't be what people strive for when buying a game. The game needs depth, and rosters have nothing to do with that.

Was that to me? I apologize if it just sounded completely like a bashing but I was really frustrated. This thread seemed active and people were discussing gameplay so I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in here. I appreciate what carnal suggested to get more fun in the game that's what I was looking for in my post because the way it is is just far too frustrating. Me and my friend played 4 hours straight switching between teams and we literally almost started fist fighting because we had no answer for what was going on. But to be honest when I throw a bball game into my ps3 I'd like to play, not fiddle with rosters for 10 ours before I can have a TOLERABLE experience at best. I was just curious as to what other people do to enjoy this game because I love basketball and haven't really played an NBA Live since 04, 05.
