    It's not speculation

People saw different builds of the game

Stop talking about imaginary buzz and acting like your eyes don't see what it sees

You crack me up dude....if the game got was more advanced they would've shown it rather than lie again about early builds that had full menus and new team logos just recently revealed by the nba

You're just believing what you want to at this point regardless of what's actually been presented

I'm honestly surprised there are still comments like this trying to find a positive in this very negative situation that EA put themselves in. The bold especially makes no freaking sense whatsoever.

      *Meanwhile back at EA HQ*

"I'm sure you guys have heard about the negative reception that the NBA Live 13 footage has gotten."

"Sure have, we can use it to our advantage."

      No one thinks like this.

The leak might have been all over YouTube and the internet but unless your a hardcore sports gamer or an avid NBA Live fan you probably missed it, and won't see it unless you actually go out and search.

I say a small percentage because us hardcore gamers and people who actually search out info of a game months before it comes out are only a small percentage of people who buy the game. I'm pretty sure most "casual" gamers didn't even realize that video leaked, and they make up most of the market.

But when Live actually does market their game you can be assured that EA will try to reach as much basketball gamers as possible; casual or hardcore. And if the official release of gameplay is good, then all the negativity from the pre alpha leak will be a thing of the past, and EA will earn some respect.

I mentioned speculation, opinions, and rumors. It might not be speculation but it is just opinion. The buzz is not imaginary because we are talking about the game right now, that is buzz. All my eyes have seen is some screenshots and a pre-alpha build of the game that according to EA "does not represent a final build or feature set for NBA Live".

Am i supposed to base my opinion off something that doesn't even represent the final build of the game?

You're right, I'm believing what I want, but its based of what EA has presented before me. I quoted the words straight out of EA's mouth. They're developing the game so I'm going to believe them when they say that leak doesn't represent the final build.

Now if you don't believe EA is telling the truth then your believing what you want regardless of what EA is presenting to you so you can't call me out for believing what I want.

Didn't realize but in response to that.. The bad news is based off something unofficial. I could understand if people were ripping Live because of a demo or a final build of the game, but people are trashing a pre-alpha build that doesn't even represent the final product.

That's like me going and trashing some construction workers because the building their working on doesn't even have any paint or a roof on it yet.

All this negativity is based off opinions, rumors, speculation and a early build of the game. Nothing official. So it might be bad news now but EA has the opportunity to redeem themselves of this negativity. So if they actually put out a good showing of the game then all the people who badmouthed the game wouldn't have anything to say. In turn EA would prove the negativity wrong, and use that turnaround to propel sales.

I just hope Live can be a decent 1600 MSP game, it's not gonna pull off a NFL 2K5 effect, but just causal gamers or not so big basketball enthusiasts would probably buy the game. But coming off Elite, the leaked gameplay of Live 13 is giving EA bad press and it's probably not even gonna help them, they're just turning themselves into a laughing stock. I still hope, but hope is slowly going away on Live 13.

@23, I hear where your coming from, but if EA's gonna lie their only hurting themselves. So i'll believe em until they show me something, its not gonna affect me if the game turns out bad, why not be optimistic.

I just know they have the resources to do something cool with this game.

It's such a stupid point he's trying to make with that. Not ripping a construction crew cause the building doesn't have paint on it yet? I know if I'm paying the construction company to build a building and the damn swimming pool that's supposed to be in the backyard is upstairs where my bathroom is supposed to be with a brick wall directly behind the front door, I wanna know about that before construction is completed and they got they're hands out reaching for a check.

I'll be glad when October comes and goes so "Pre-Alpha" can take it's place alongside other EA buzzwords like Go-to-moves, Real Time Physics, No Canned Animations, Move with a Purpose, etc. in a grave somewhere.

Re: Its time, no more hiding

I feel like all these threads are the same people trying to defend EA over and over again and the same people trying to convince them it's not going to happen.

Some people are acting like EA hasn't lied before. What has EA done with basketball this gen:

They released sub-par games every year, and finally made small strides with Live '10. They cancelled the Live series when it was reaching it's highest point and said they wanted to go a different direction. They started Elite and stated it would change basketball games completely. Well, that was a failure to say the least. They cancelled, said they wanted to go a different direction and now they're saying the same thing...revolutionary changes.

How can anyone say that EA is going to release a product that is worth buying after seeing that video?

I read that someone said EA has the tools to make a "cool" basketball game. Well, it's been what, 8 years on these consoles and they haven't released a good basketball sim yet.

Oh, and don't even get me started on how they abandoned us with NCAA Basketball 10, which had potential, but once again, they left us hanging with freezes and other issues.

EA basketball can't be trusted. The sooner people realize this and move on, the better off this forum section will be.

I want EA to release a competitive series, because competition is what makes this industry great, but at this point, all 2k needs as motivation is to sink EA basketball into the ground, and they certainly are doing that at this point.

You nailed every point possible in this post. And it should be a post everyone entering the Live forum should see.

                              1. We can't trust EA anymore with basketball.

                              2. Competition used to make basketball games great.

                              3. The lack of representatives on twitter and here, defending Live 13', is startling. It's unprecedented in this day and age of social media to not have developer-to-fan interaction. It's an emphatic dagger to the heart of the entire Live franchise.

We should really erase the NBA Live forum on OS. The only reason people come here is to bicker back and forth needlessly. Defending and Assaulting the franchise. How long does it take to get to a constructive critique on this forum? Very long. Compared to 2K.

We all grew up on Live, it's sad to see it end like this, but you have to learn to let go.

                              R.I.P NBA Live.
