LOL reading this page i agree with your question, what does all this have to do with the op?

I haven't posted in ages.. just been around reading all the threads and what not lol.

I agree with the op though.. this is becoming a real mess from EA, i cant believe the garbage that I saw in that live video.

Best thing I saw in that video was the player faces.. WHICH IS NOT A GOOD SIGN.

I do believe that was an older build of the game not the most recent build, and I also believe that was some sort of a ploy by EA to set up for something a little later. All that aside I was still disgusted by what I saw. Pre-alpha or not, that was our first viewing of the game in motion and we as a community have all right to be upset at that poor showing.

I hope that as members of the sim community and overall the sports gaming community continue to call out EA sports on their nonsense, they will respond with something better than this .

I expect something better than what we've been getting thus far.

      AGREE COMPLETELY.

That was a simple yes or no question. He didn't ask about elite or anything

Let's stay focused. We are asking for something here. There are plenty other threads talking about everything else.

Its time out for this annoying guesswork and people wondering.
Itsthe kinda old reading all of those threads. If you have something show it because you said it was old prove it. Show us what 2 years did for your game.

Oh and krazy ,ea has bigger issues than message board reactions because the average gamer ain't giving them a chance anyway...ask a couple of your friends if you don't believe me

Their game changer buddies as well as the people who saw early versions already gave them their reaction.

I agree with 23 whole heartedly. As a fan of all basketball games, and as someone who kept Live "alive" for a few hundred PS3 users the last year and a half.(look under the rosters section) IT'S TIME!!!!!

If you got something, say you've got something. If its gonna be delayed say something. if its not coming out, say something. All we want is for the silence to be broken.

          EA. it's time.....SAY SOMETHING!!!!!

            Agree 100%.

They need to show something. Even a sizzle trailer.

Yeah, i don't see this game coming out at all. What EA is doing is ridiculous, at least have the balls to come out and say something about the game.

Unfortunately this is a moot point. You have to have a respectible share of the market or a significant core audience to capitalize on a strategy like this. They're at the point where they've begun alientating even the casual market and to a lesser extent their loyalists. The real issue is operating in a fashion that goes beyond the point of diminishing returns when it comes to marketing ploys or strategy. I've been in marketing for nearly 20 years and am a small business owner myself.

                  Its simple...

                  They're doing it wrong.

I don't doubt it but for a different reason. I agree with you that it's not a setup. But I think there's a small chance they leaked it to gauge the response. Up to this point the response from those who had any insight or inside track wasn't very positive. I could see leaking a little footage to see how the public reacts. I'm not buying the pre-alpha rhetoric. All teams available to select, commentary, overlays and inconsistencies with those who had an earlier peek. It just doesn't add up.

I dont buy that it is Pre-Alpha either, because there is too much "polish" in certain areas. I dont know the whole process of game design, but I would imagine everything would be around the same point in pre alpha.

Have we heard anything from the game changers? Even that would be something since we would at least get some info on the game. But if it is "pre alpha" gameplay then ANY little snippet of gameplay now should be vastly improved. But if it was there, they wouldve shown it already....

That makes a lot of sense, a leak of some gameplay would have a lower risk than letting journalists or the public get a hand on a more up-to-date build. If people hate it they can just spout the "pre-alpha build" nonsense and anyone not familiar enough with the stages of software development in relation to the build released would have to take their word for it. Pretty smart but very underhanded. I think customers would respect them more if they just came out and told the truth. Humility goes a long way in retaining good will. It's better than customers finding out the hard way that they were just lying the whole time and the game was never going to be noticeably better.

I agree with the OP, it is time..

Someone sent me a message on another site, claiming the video of gameplay was leaked purposely, to hear the negative feedback. And it was created by a person at EA. I hope there is no truth to this, because it bad press...and the friend of mine who said this hates Live series with a passion.

As I look at it, it might be true, maybe they are holding out for a bigger release of info and that alpha gameplay was purposely leaked.

But if anything it's put up or shut up. Time to show us the current stage of it and hopefully do some flood marketing we are weeks away from October and I'm ready to see the real Live 13! No alphas and betas, just Live 13 complete.

To be quite frank if it does somehow turn out to be true that they leaked the footage so they could lie and call it pre-alpha if it didn't go over well, then I hope they never get their basketball title together and they're done with the NBA for good.

It would be the absolute worst thing in my view if they have their damn Advisory Council of 'community' guys who 'know' the game of basketball and can give them feedback on what they're doing right or wrong with the title along with the community guys that were able to see the title at E3 and rather than listen to those guy's feedback they want to leak footage to get feedback from who? You picked the best minds from the community for your council allegedly. The press and some of the community YouTube guys got to see what was up at E3. So what's the point of a footage leak of a "pre-alpha" build? Hope enough people are dumb enough to be floored by ESPN presentation and get happy over that so that you can release on that? I pray that EA was not THAT stupid.
