What I find annoying is, they have cut off almost all interaction with the community, not even stopping by to say "Hi" or anything on OS or the EA Live forum. I get that there may be an NDA or whatever but that doesn't mean you have to completely stop communicating with fans. When footage is released, you can say "leaked" all day long, the way it was released doesn't matter, it was released, you say it's "pre-alpha" and then leave with nothing else said, I tend to lean toward it pretty much being your finished product and you didn't like the reception it got.

Re: Its time, no more hiding
I've seen videos with the WIP and read the not final build statements from EA this entire generation. Yet when the game releases it always looks just like the video showed it.Comment

As I said... no other game company has ever done this and gotten by with it
Im sticking to my point though... IF its a pre alpha, show it to us right now since you have a later version now.
I dont want a lie or a PR statement, what is really going on?
No company has a great product and hides it... even Sony showed us NBA 09 with no shame and they didnt even like it, so whats up with the tail tucking?Comment

Re: Its time, no more hiding
I see there are no marketing professionals in the house.
1. If the competition is ahead of you, your marketing should be dedicated to two weeks before release.
2. If you feel your product is inferior, lacks depth etc.. your strategy should be dedicated to two weeks before release so you build hype fast enough to hook the core audience.Comment

Re: Its time, no more hiding
Technology isn't their problem now, and it never was. EA's problem is that they don't see Live as valuable enough of a franchise to sink the proper resources into to make it a great game. It's as simple as that.Comment

Re: Its time, no more hiding
I would guess EA is "hiding" while they put some mad rush on to do something to make the game at least a little better than the vid we saw. I mean if they have a big enough team of a lot of top talent they could maybe make it playable enough to be a download or something. Trying to keep hope alive as i would love to see a great EA hoops game.
If they had something they were confident to show you would have to think they would have by now. As it's been said this isn't a marketing thread so I wont go there. BUT they would be at least be taking advantage of all of the "free" internet buzz games can get these days if they had anything to show.

Re: Its time, no more hiding
So because EA hasn't started the heavy portion of their marketing campaign yet, that means they are hiding?Well, I guess technically you are right in a way. They are hiding information from us at this point, because they haven't started the heavy marketing yet, lol. I'm sure whenever they start releasing info for the game we will have plenty of it to go around. Just be patient.

In what world would devs intentionally sit on their hands when their closest competition is putting out info left and right? This 'EA is doing this on purpose' nonsense has gotta stop. Please. There's something fishy going on, and EA's silence is speaking volumes at this point.Comment

Re: Its time, no more hiding
Are you kidding me? The game's supposed to come out in October. It's almost September now. A little over a month from release and all we have is a few screenshots - no info on gameplay, features, modes, nothing from devs. And you want to say this is part of the marketing plan?

Re: Its time, no more hiding
This could be all part of their strategy for all we know. They could be purposely waiting until the last minute to wow everybody.
Man the Internet is always full of people trying to be 'that guy'.
If the game was as good as you think it is, why in the world would they need to wait til the last minute to "wow everybody"? This ain't exactly Rockstar and GTA we're talking about where they can easily wait til the last minute because they'll do numbers regardless, lol.
Matter of fact, since when are they in a position to "wait til the last minute" to show folks anything? Last I heard, the last Basketball game they put out was crap(well except to you and maybe 2 other people)and when you put out crap games, you don't really get the same benefit of the doubt that other companies get when they put out games that aren't crap.#RespectTheCultureComment
