Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
This is true the AI gets better when you increase the difficulty.
@Schwall This is something that has to be patched ASAP.
^^and thats not my video, i just slipped up on it after watching other NBA live 18 demo vids.
Raising the difficulty to Superstar does exactly the same thing as it does in Madden. The CPU becomes superhuman and your guys become less than what they should be. I played one quarter on Superstar and the experience was laughable. CPU defenders were literally teleporting to intercept passes, CPU Curry altered my layup with LeBron even tho he was at full force to the rim (should have easily been a dunk), and Kevin Love ended up sliding out of bounds when in help position to make way for the CPU driving to the basket (Not once, not twice, but THREE times). All-Star seems fine, but Superstar just played like a complete mess.

You just have to hit it. And you should be able to box someone else out and do it as long as you are around the basket and in good position.Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
Speaking of tip in dunks
Love: Stuck near the free throw line, picked up dribble, tap Y then X (triangle then box) - throws it off the backboard and you are able to time it for a tip in/putback. Kobe style. It's not easy in game either.
Hate: Tip in put backs off free throws are cheap. Only Jordan talents, not Kevin Love please.

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
Blocked KD at the rim and the Cavs got the ball back, i was wondering how and saw this in replay:
Cool that it was recognized..
Also isnt this out of bounds?
No big deal, ball was up there for like 2 seconds after a shot...nice random moment..Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
Did the ball hit the shot clock? It's not out if it hits the top of the backboard and falls back in play.

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
Has anyone figured out what "mirroring" the pick and roll is supposed to be? I understand the other ones but that was a new term for me. Also, can you tweak defensive settings anywhere other than timeouts?

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
I haven't played superstar yet, mainly all star, maybe that's why I have little complaints.
To be fair, superstar/hof is cheap on every team sports game I've played. They all can teleport and ****.

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
But if we get these missed dunks due to more contact. I need more fouls called due to said contact. i dont just want some cheese player figuring out how to get the animation going to bump someone mid air.. to make me brick a dunk or layup for a no call. this is what happens when you play some people in the other game online. They know how to get that specific animation to knock you out of your dunk animation and into a blown layup animation when in reality it should be a miss AND a Foul.Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
I keep seeing people say that Live might dethrone 2K in a couple of years as they are moving in the right direction.
Well as a strictly offline Be A Pro player as long as Live lets me be my own name and not Prez or Freq, doesn't require me to pick up a bag and walk out the door, doesn't require me to fall off a barrel or jump in the air 1 million times to get random upgrades, doesn't have annoying flashing orange circles tying me to a partner I don't need or want, doesn't keep calling me orange juice long after I have moved on then Live will have dethroned 2K for me.Comment
