Re: Playmakers All-Star/Press Box Cam/Team Specific Plays

Just played a bit(1 quarter) with these sliders and noticed that the AI has the damn PG taking all the shots and drives to the lane, i am playing the wolves and i haven't even noticed KG so far. Other then that it is all good so far.

Re: Playmakers All-Star/Press Box Cam/Team Specific Plays

      PM,

I played a half with these sliders(small sample size), but once my son saw me playing , he wanted to play.

The first thing I noticed is steals from the AI with the setting at 60. I lowered it to 15 that the Human Sliders have and that seemed to help. Maybe I should raise it.

Offensive rebounds are showing up again this year.

This is the first time I played that I had a ton of 3 second calls on me. Is there a slider for this frequency? (not specifically)

As far as calling plays, I set all the plays for the Rockets, then I went back to the game controller screen inside the game, switched the controller to the Bucks, then went back to the Rockets and noticed the plays went back to default.

      Any help here?

      Also, I'm on PC.

Where are the Go To Players? I don't know if the PC has this option.

      Anyone?

      Otherwise, it wasn't bad, really.

      Thank you.

Despite the score, it was a great game. It was 48-45 Det at halftime. Game speed was perfect. Rebounding felt even. The collision at the rim was beautiful. Guys really defended their goals with hard fouls whenever someone came in the lane. I don't know what sliders affected that, but it was perfect! That was one of the things that just stood out man. Great job.

My biggest concern was the Steals by the CPU. That's where the game got out of hand. 60 seems too high. Also, the CPU got in early foul trouble quickly in the first quarter. That's the reason why Chauncey Billups had 14 FT attempts.

PM, I liked the amount of fouls, but I'd like to see them on both sides.
Everyone needs to give these sliders a go. Game felt incredible as far as the flow goes. Good job man!!

He was just noting who the go-to players were on the team, hence who the offense should flow through.

It's funny, when TMac was in the game, he kinda hogged the ball. But when he was on the bench, they played more team ball and swung the ball around in the offense alot more.

Also PM, note that Mike James had 7 assists within the offense. That's great.

Also, for better atmosphere, go to Preferences and bump Commentary down to 10 and bump Arena Volume to 16.

Crowd sounds amazing. Especially on a run.

Re: Playmakers All-Star/Press Box Cam/Team Specific Plays

Ok I'll try to answer most questions all on this post.

As for the CPU Steals being at 60 if you are having a hard time protecting the ball I would lower it to about 50. My intentions were to force the Human player to not just pass the ball without having a clear passing lane and also it allows the CPU's defensive minded PG's to cause you some problems if your just free-styling without any threat of a the CPU making a defensive play.

Offensive Rebounding is still being looked at right now. I could go up on DEFENSIVE REBOUNDS or down to about 10 on OFFENSIVE boards but I don't want to hinder guy's like Ben Wallace ability to be effective either.

The Sliders were actually designed to play with CPU SHOT CONTROL ON for human player. It help to play based upon your players shooting ratings.

The only team that has been set up for test against is Houston. I've only designed a playbook for the Rockets. You have to setup their QUICK Plays exactly how I have them listed and also use the Team Strategy play I posted aswell. Those plays are designed to revolve around Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady. The Rockets will actually run plays in this game if you use those settings for test play. You have to switch controller's over to your team after you set up the Rockets Playbooks.

The inside post play is going to be physical that is how I want it to be. This was a combination of Shooting Sliders combined with IN AIR COLLISION Slider. Also, high DEF PRESSURE should be assigned to all C's and PF's, MEDIUM DEF PRESSURE should be set to all SF's, SG's and PG's. This apply's to both Human and CPU players. Those settings will be important to gameplay.

Re: Playmakers All-Star/Press Box Cam/Team Specific Plays

I'm going to be knocking out most of the teams Playbooks this weekend. The CPU actually gets high assist totals when you have them running plays that get's the PG's to distribute the ball. Of course guy's like Iverson and Billups will get more shots simply because they are scorer's but my main focus will be to get the GO TO GUY's the ball and let the PG's set up things.

                  PM;

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it.

I haven't played Live since 04 on the PC, so, sometimes if feels like I'm learning all over again.

Have anyone else or maybe even PM seen a high amount of 3 sec calls with the sliders?

                  Thank you.

All Complete with more teams to follow tonight. Also, I made a few minor changes on the Sliders. Look for the asterick (*) which represents a Slider change.

Another great job bro. I played two games one was with NJ vs Hou. I won that one by 5. Tmac was unstoppable. The second was atl vs dal. I got it handed to me on this lost by 12. Dirk was nice. I can't wait to play after all the teams are done. One thing I should mention is I had to up the speed to 55 just because it was moving to slow to me. 55 is not to fast like last year by the way. Also I played on superstar and they transferred well. Thanks

Cool thanks for the feedback. I'm going to eventually work with GameSpeed again but first I have to finish up all teams. The Play sets help to utilize the clock for the CPU and they pass the ball around. The Human player will factor in because they habe to be willing not too take quick shots if I increase the gamespeed and they must play realistic or else the shot will go up.

So, it's not only up to the CPU to run the plays which they will but the Human player has to help by not running and gunning all game or else a higher speed won't work. I could also set Fatigue up high so if the Human player does decided to run his players into the ground he'll be stuck with backup players most of the game.......

You might want to change your Minnesota play set. Sam Cassell is a Clipper now. Also as for the Clippers, you might want to include Mobley as someone to get involved.

Yeah I forgot about Cassell. But Mobley will get his production even though I have the plays running through Magette and Brand. Those two guy's will get 20+ shots so I'm going to split up the QUICK PLAYS 2/2 for them. Cassell and Mobley will still get shots within the frame of the offense.

just a question...do you have to adjust the CPU's playbook for EVERY game, or once initially when you play a team for the first time? just wondering, thanks in advance
