In fact I have most PG's looking to pass first before shoot unless you just allow them to break down your defense and get in the paint then yeah they are going to take it all the way to the rack.

The plays I set up have the CPU going to their best jump shooters and their slashers attacking the rim. I set up plays that take advantage of the players tendencies and what type of Super Star they are like Peja he's going to shoot outside mostly all game while Grant Hill or LeBron who both play SF will attack the rim and give you a balance type offensive game.

As for the human offensive rebounds like I've mentioned so many times now play the game realistic. I shoot the ball but very rarely go after an offensive rebound simply because if it is something that I can take advantage of in gameplay then I'm not going to do it. I let my AI teammates go for the offensive rebound on their own. This has worked great for me because I get around 10-12 offensive rebounds per game without even controlling the rebounder. I do take control on the defensive end for rebounding though because the CPU can crash the boards aswell on the offensive end.

But overall I'm not going to let that slight problem ruin this game for me. I've seen so much realism in this game when you play the game like it should be played it's scary realistic. I see too many great animations and players doing smart things on the court to let one slight flaw distract me from playing. Some guy's find a flaw and it's the end of the world (not you personally) but too many guy's are expecting greatness from these games all the way around and that just isn't going to happen regardless of what game it is or who developed it.

This a very good game and I've realized that all I can do is create sliders and provide the playbooks that take the game to another level. I can't fix all the problems nor can I make guy's enjoy the game. But for those who have found away to put up with certain things I'm sure they see so much potential in this game from a week ago when everyone assumed it was just a dunk fest arcade game.
Thanks for all of your help. I am sort of hesitant to change the playbooks because i like to sim a few years and then start playing. i sort of like seeing new superstars and not the existing guys.

I have toned down the cpu sliders for drop step and pro hop. it helped a little.

I just can't tell you how mad i get when i make a good stop and then the cpu proceeds to get 4 ORBs and then a slam. if i want to stop this i take my PG and rebound. he usually gets it over everyone (except kaman). i would rather just let ratings take over. hopefully there is something out there to tone this down.

do you know what cpu assistance is?

finally, i do like so many aspects of live. i don't want to give up on it. but i have played about 20 games and it seems that every game the cpu will find a way to make it close. especially in the 4th qtr. i am even at home. in 2004 you had a good chance to pull in out at home in the 4th. in 2005 it doesn't seem to be a home court advantage. i am up by 10 and brian cardinal hits two 3s, i get a 3 second call, and then the cpu goes nuts on the ORBs. i then have to take lebron and force him into the lane and dunk because i am so pissed.

If your playing with CPU Assist ON that might explain the problem. That actaully helps the CPU keep games close by juicing up their ratings. I guess if you want to make All-Star Level really difficult that would help but I think they compete pretty good without any assistance.

Re: Playmakers All-Star/Press Box Cam/Team Specific Plays

        FINALLY!

I completed all teams. I truly believe that the Playbooks and Sliders combined together brings out the best over gameplay in this years Live. If you guy's have the patience and5 Minutes of time before you start a game I would highly reccomend using the playbooks for both Offense and Defense for the CPU. Also , Don't forget the settings for all PF's and C's on defense. Assign them to HIGH PRESSURE so the paint area will be more physical and guy's aren't running around free.

You will really love the contact fouls in this game. The animations are best I've ever seen in Live. I made sure teams will look and play different even more than EA had them at DEFAULT. Believe it or not certain plays really shouldn't have been assigned to many teams because the rosters weren't up to date and too many teams ran the same stuff. For instance jump shooting SF's like Peja shouldn't be slashing to rack and too many SG's were getting plays directly assigned to them with the Team Specific Play called Shooter A that was listed for all teams.

Not one team played different in terms of Defensive Playbooks, so i think many of you will be shocked to see some of the things teams will do on that end aswell now. I have to these are the smartest players in the NBA Live series I've ever witnessed. From many hours of testing I've seen great attention to detail this year. It is most noticeable on Fast Breaks when you see jumpshooters running to spot up on a fast break instead of running away from the ball and into the defender. The one guy that truly reflects what Live animations are all about is Manu Ginoboli, how in the hell did EA pull off those crazy moves this guy really does in games......

I'll look further into the rebounding situation but personally, it doesn;t take away from the addicting gameplay in my opinion. I play every game very SIM like so i don't see outrages offensive rebounding #'s. But overall I really enjoy this game and it's been a long time coming since I"ve had this much fun getting up and down the court on a fast break. It's very temptiing to run all game but I stick to a philosophy that helps me keep realistic stats and scores. Some teams will run an gun but most will actually be patient and use a great deal of the shot clock. I'm actually amazed that the CPU get's a 3 second lane violation called on them this year. I saw Duncan get nailed twice in one game.....

What crazy moves have you seen of Manu? Are you talking about things that we as users control, from the freestyle superstar controls? Or automatiac things that just happen and are player specific. I ask because I think I have seen some little things from different players as well.

Also great point about the defense. I was playing against Phoenix and Manu was getting going. The next time down I noticed Amare is out on the left side perimeter. I was like WTF. Then I looked and sure enough they are in a 3-2 zone with Amare on the side that Manu was bustin from. Man I had to set back and look and really think how I was going to attack it. It was one of the best things I have seen in a game. So much respect on getting this feature to come out.

PM, looks like you've done a great superior job on these! I've been checking back for the finalize ones, and finally you've done it! Well anyways, I'm about to try these for my first time, but where do I set CPU SHOT CONTROL ON? Should CPU Assistance by on or off? And do you only control your PG on defense for realistic results? But do you control everyone on offense though? I hope you can answer all my questions. But great job man! Thank you.

I only control the PG on DEFENSE.

I controll my shooters on offense with CPU Shot Control ON

I never go for offensive rebounds if I took a outside shot I get back on defense.

I play with CPU assist OFF

I play the game the way it is played in real life. I don't run and gun all game and i set up plays and use time on the clock just like the CPU will for certain teams.

Not user controlled moves CPU AI moves he does on me on his own when I play against the Spurs. This guy is extremelly tough to defend. I have to call Zones sometimes to slow him down from driving.

So you must have updated to get him involved. I haven't played for a couple days. Hey have you figured out how to split the double teams with the behind the back dribble like Tmac in the vids? I am not sure that its automatic.

How do you do these moves? Are they automatic to? Someone said that the only way to get Duncan to do his bank shot, you have to assign him as a shooter. They said that's the only way to shoot off the glass. Man I am going to have to put more time on this game.

Hey Playmaker, I noticed that the human controlled guards are alot slower than the cpu players, I was playing with the bulls and i know that chris duhon is alot faster than he is in the game, detroit was on a fastbreak with elden campbell handling the ball and duhon couldn't even catch him which i know that wouldn't happened in real life, if i go in and edit the players speed and quickness would that affect the slider's overall performance?

Thats not correct. Duncan does it sometimes for me automatically depending on the angle he's at on the court. I think since most guy's play with USER SHOT Control ON they don't see his bank shot unless the CPU is controlling him.

I use CPU SHOT CONTROL ON, so I see his bank shot about 2-4 times per game if I control the Spurs. The Kobe Head Fake was done when I played against the Lakers. He like to do it around the Free-Throw line and get you up in the air. Again I think most of these signature moves occur when you allow your AI Teammates to defend their own man and you stick with one player on defense.

I've never seen a Big Man lead the fast break in Live. But I think EA might have given the CPU a little speed boost on Fast Break chances just so that they can get out and run without being caught from behindd like in previous versions of the game. But ratings are always personal decisions and if it helps to solve problems I would do it. I don't think it would effect the sliders.

In fact if Next Gen wasn't being released in November I would have Re-Rated every players Offensive Rebounding ratings. That would have really done away with those issues people are having this year. But I'm going to enjoy the game until the 360 version is released.

I guess I will have to try the cpu shot control on thing. I never did it before cause I felt when I went into the lane the cpu controlled my shot to much. Ex I get into the lane and want to shoot a jumper and it gives me a totally different type of shot. Is it different this year? Could you maybe give a quick description of it? I know what it is, but maybe I am not understanding it fully. Thanks man
