Toronto just traded Rafer Alston to Houston for Mike James.

For the guy that asked about superstar these do transfer pretty well.

Playmakers I owe you an apology for the discussion we had on plays. Man I played the Suns twice and they killed me, I am on superstar. What I liked was that both games were different. The first Nash was killing me with penetration. He came close to a double double. The second Amare went off. Man I got tired of seeing him flex his muscle to my crowd. I love how the game plays different everytime you play and how you must play the way your team is supposed to play. Ex if you play with the Nets you have to run, Pistons slow the ball down, its great.
A couple questions for you. I haven't played on the desired game time yet and also I haven't messed with the d matchup pressure for the cpu either. So what am I missing by not messing with these? Also for the Spurs can you or have you addresed getting Manu involved a little more? One last thing I love how the game adjusts the shot when you get hit going to the hole, I have seen a bunch of new animations when this occurs. I just can't see how people are not liking this game. Strategy, plays, superstars like themselves, fast breaks, whats not to like?

I was actually waiting for your input on the Spurs. I have there playbook reset and was waiting to hear from you again if Duncan got more involved with the changes I made to their playbook.

I really love the steal and shot blocking animations this year. In fact the reason why I have the CPU Steals so high is because if set lower it hinders defensive minded PG's like Kidd and makes them useless so I wanted the Human player to respect those guy's or else they will steal the ball from you. You will also see some sweet strip animations in the paint.

The shot blocking is set high for the CPU because we shouldn't take away from what Ben Wallace, Theo Ratliff and other shot blockers do so well. That's why EA has LOW POST STOPPERS in this game. Duncan has provided several highlight reel blocks on me during testing and it seems to make post play more physical.

So, the animations are incredible but if you set certain sliders too low you will not see some of these animations.

This is how I play most of the game and it's awesome. There are plenty of CPU teams that i designed playbooks that allow them to work the ball around and waite for good shots.

Memphis is a prime example of it. They are so patient it's scary realistic how they will waite to free up Miller off a screen or for Gasol to come from underneath.

But then you have Phoenix, Dallas and Golden St those teams are always looking to strike quick in the shot clock. The Spurs play very good interior defense and they recover defensively aswell as any team in the game.

So, some teams you will have get and down the court against and then vs others you'll have to be patient.

I actually didn't play against the Spurs I was them. I will test them tonight. I just didn't have alot of time and from what you were saying about the Suns, I had to see what they were all about. One question if the Suns play small ball again this year have you found many plays that will have Marion and the pf playing on the perimeter? That was a big problem last year the game would just have him in the post, which is not right for their small lineup.

They would have to then revert to a playbook similiar to Dallas. Those plays get Dirk up high but they are screen plays. The Suns don't normally run a screen game but I'll test them out with Marion sliding over to SF and Amare at C once I'm done with the remaining teams.

                That's cool I don't mind.

But the Playbooks aren't complete yet. I have to go and update the Knicks and Bulls because of the trade. I also forgot about Shareef Rahim on Sactown and Joe Johnson in Atlanta.

So, I'll make those adjustment and hopefully finish up al teams tonight.

Please let me know how you have toned down CPU penetration ability and ORB. If i could fix those two things this game would be golden to me. If i have Ron Artest and a PG guarding Jamal Tinsley he should not be able to drive thru them and dunk. Impossible.

Plus I had Chris Kaman get 23 rebounds and 10 ORB. He scored 30 points!! He is rated 73 and my C is 72 and PF 92.

I am frustrated because i have toned down my offensive to i now just can't dunk in the lane. I want the CPU to stop being able to drive and shoot jump shots. I hope you can help. If not i am moving to 2k and start over.

Hello Playmaker, Just wanted to commend you and the guys from what I have been reading here at OS. I have really been using your ideas to make my sliders more realistic game like. Anyway, I have a question. Would you mine posting your latest and final sliders and playbooks on the forum at some point. I picked up on you guys postings late and feel that I may have not made adjustments correctly. It would be nice to have a updated posting. Thanks again.

Playmaker...this work looks awesome definelty going to try it out...

One question, after you put in each teams playbooks, are they permenantly saved. Like if i was playing in season mode, and do this for specific teams, is this saved for each specific team, or do you have to put these in everytime you play a game?

                        thanks in advance....

As far as the rebounding goes I don't have a problem stopping the CPU from getting Offensive boards. I also don't see their PG's dunking on me with these sliders. In fact I have most PG's looking to pass first before shoot unless you just allow them to break down your defense and get in the paint then yeah they are going to take it all the way to the rack.

The plays I set up have the CPU going to their best jump shooters and their slashers attacking the rim. I set up plays that take advantage of the players tendencies and what type of Super Star they are like Peja he's going to shoot outside mostly all game while Grant Hill or LeBron who both play SF will attack the rim and give you a balance type offensive game.

As for the human offensive rebounds like I've mentioned so many times now play the game realistic. I shoot the ball but very rarely go after an offensive rebound simply because if it is something that I can take advantage of in gameplay then I'm not going to do it. I let my AI teammates go for the offensive rebound on their own. This has worked great for me because I get around 10-12 offensive rebounds per game without even controlling the rebounder. I do take control on the defensive end for rebounding though because the CPU can crash the boards aswell on the offensive end.

But overall I'm not going to let that slight problem ruin this game for me. I've seen so much realism in this game when you play the game like it should be played it's scary realistic. I see too many great animations and players doing smart things on the court to let one slight flaw distract me from playing. Some guy's find a flaw and it's the end of the world (not you personally) but too many guy's are expecting greatness from these games all the way around and that just isn't going to happen regardless of what game it is or who developed it.

This a very good game and I've realized that all I can do is create sliders and provide the playbooks that take the game to another level. I can't fix all the problems nor can I make guy's enjoy the game. But for those who have found away to put up with certain things I'm sure they see so much potential in this game from a week ago when everyone assumed it was just a dunk fest arcade game.

I'm alomost complete only two teams remaining.

If anyone needs all final settings and playbooks it will be on the front page until I can no longer post any changes there then I"ll provide a LINK for future changes.

My suggestions to everyone is don't let this rebounding thing take away from the fun factor of this game. Too many people are really blowing this thing up. Play the game like a real NBA game and don't crash the boards after every offensive shot and you'll see more realism. In fact priority #1 should be to get back on DEFENSE after a shot and slow down the CPU's transistion game.

I can't stress enough that when you controll the shooter if you just stay with him after the shot and don't switch the CPU will cut your offensive rebounds in half unless you have big time rebounders like Ben Wallace or Shaq clearing up offensive boards on their own. I just get back on defense and don't try to abuse a game play tactic.

                              Hey Playmaker,

Does setting the shot control to CPU make a huge difference? And does that mean that the CPU controls the release of the shot when you shoot the ball determining by the players shooting rating whether it goes in or not? Because if so, that would be an awesome way of shooting(based off of player's field goal ratings).

Yes that is why I play with CPU Shot Control ON.

I could hit 3 straight shots and then all of a sudden go cold for long stretches. I even get my shot block more often because of this style of play.
