If your playing 10 minutes the Speed should 45.

If your playing 8 minutes then reccomended speed would be 50.

The Sliders work hand in hand with the Playbooks. So, if you set up the Sliders without the Playbooks I couldn't tell you what scores your going to get simply because the Playbooks allow the flow of the game to slow down depending on teams.

But I"ve nver had those type of scores on 10 Minute QTr's with any teams during testing. So, I think the way some guy's play the game is also going to factor into the shot totals and game pace. I don't take quick shots unless I have to and I don't fast break every chance I get either. I know for sure the CPU isn't going to do those things unless you just have trouble playing defense then yes they will keep attacking until you stop them but for the most I have observed each team with these playbooks and they will patiently set up plays and make as many as 3-5 passes often before taking a shot if you are taking away their penatration.

Som teams like Phoenix and Dallas will run and shoot all game but there are many that will help with the pace of the game simply because they are actually running designed plays to free up their scorers.

playmakers. how did you come up with team specific plays? is it what the real nba team uses?

They are designed and built around the Players listed under that team on the Front Page.

For instance if your playing the CPU and they are Golden St, I based their playcalling tendencies around J.Richardson and Baron Davis. I also factored into account how each player performs in real life. That means Dirk Nowitzki has no plays designed for him to post up all game. His plays envolve screens and high post plays to free him up in space.

Offensive minded PG's like Marbury, Davis, Terry and Iverson have plays designed to have them attack the rim off of screns and dribble pentration. They will also spot up for 3's aswell. Only Elite PF's have plays designed for them to score. That means if your PF is Drew Gooden, Udonis Haslem, Reggie Evans, Tyson Chandler or PJ Brown there are no set plays designed for those guy's. The CPU will not get the ball to any of those guy's as a first or second option in the offense. They will have to score by doing dirty work and eat up glass.

You'll also notice that you aren't going to see very many plays for teams that don't have true offensive minded Center's. I wanted tendencies put into the game and that's how the plays were designed.

I have so many more things I've done outside of the Playbooks that I didn't realease it's awesome man. Seriously, guy's like LeBron can be listed under Playmakers aswell and that makes them TRIPLE DOUBLE Threat if you assign plays for them to score, rebound and pass. I have the Spurs bench setup with Van Exel, Finley, Horry, Robinson and Rasha and they are sick vs your backups.

I'll PM it too you because it really takes patient to setup things like Matchup charts and rotations that I have come up with for each team. I think the playbooks is overwhelming enough for guy's who just want get into the game and play. So, this is my own personal settings that I do before each game.

It requires you to switch not only your players assignment's defensively depending on the teams but also the CPU's as far as who on your team warrants a double team and who on the CPU's team command a double team. For example I use Dallas and Dirk if I'm playing Minnesota won't defend Garnett in matchups. Instead he'll slide over defensively and defend Olowonkandi, just like in real life while Garnett is eithert double teamed or defended by Josh Howard a more atheletic player than Dirk but he defends every team's top scorer for Dallas in real life unless it's a Power Center or Physical PF.

So, I"ll shoot you a PM with the Rotations and matchups for when you play certain teams.

You can do two things.

PLay vs Detroit or San Antonio and see if the scores remain high or drop the Shooting sliders down for both Human and CPU about 2 clicks for each range.

Short-33
Medium-38
Long-33

Try that for both sides and see if it drops the production.

This thread is incredible Playmakers. I was so upset with EA's game after purchasing it this year. Then over at another forum a few guy's started talking about these sliders and your Playbooks. Let me say I was really enjoying NBA 2K6 because I felt like Live was dead. But 2K6 has showed it's ugly head on few occasions and though it's a very good game it just doesn't feel right control wise compared to Live. The problem was Live was pissing me off until I loaded up your sliders about 2 days. I must say you have saved the game for me and a couple of friends. I lowered the Shooting fouls but other than that I just wanted to say you have truly done an amazing job with your work and this game plays so true to life with the players now it's unreal. I think your sliders with a few personal tweaks from any guy to fit there style of play is arguably the best sliders for this game that I have come accross.

Thanks for hard your hard work and saving this game for me. Your work is much appreciated over at the other forum that posted your sliders. I wanted to register and tell you thanks for saving this game.

i can't hit a three to save my life!

i played 2 games and must have went 0-15 from 3.

is there something i'm missing about the CPU shot control? do i need to release the button or just hold it down?

Who are shooting long range shots with?

You can also increase your long range to about 37 and see if that help's a bit. I play with the Mavs and with them 35 still seems too high on some nights. But if I use like Minnesota or New Orleans I will shoot bricks.

Someone posted a link to other NBA Live forums but I wasn't sure if registration was needed for those sites.

As for the shooting fouls I'll take another look at it and see if I can get down to around 20-25 FT's per game. I don't want to loweer it too much becuse then there will be lots of contact yet no fouls being called.

Once I'm done updating all teams. The one thing I noitced about this game as I was telling SirJam is that if you have your top 8-9 setup correct on the depth charts this year the CPU will do an amazing job with their sub patterns and lineups.

For instance if Phoanix gets into fould trouble or replace Kurt Thomas, then they will automatically move Marion over to PF and Amare to C. They will avoid using a center on the roster just because he's on the bench. They will go with the best lineup that keeps them competive. I've never seen a video game adjust that way.

It's just like the Spurs. Instead of leaving Finley or Van Exel on the bench because they both play SG they will slide Van Exel over to his 2nd posistion PG and leave Finley on the floor aswell. I switched LeBron's 2nd posistion to PG and the Cavs slide him over if Damon Jones or Erick Snow come out the game. It really awesome to see LeBron bring the ball up and setting up the offense. That is why I think you can get so much more out of this game if guy's just tweak sliders, rosters and playbooks.

I'm going to take a look at On Ball Physical Defense for Both sides aswell. But not to the point where guy's are following other guy's around the court like magnets.

I wonder if that slider is making the Offensive rebounds float into players hands aswell..... ...


Ok call me crazy but I think after two games the best setup for REBOUNDING by both Human and CPU is actually this way listed below:

Human Offensive Reb-0
CPU Offensive-0

Human Defensive Reb-0
CPU Defensive Reb-100

I actually went an entire second half on 10 Minute QTR's using Phoenix vs Portland and the two teams combined for only 7 offensive rebounds. Now I play the game honest and fair. I don't crash the boards at will and I always stick with the shooter until possesion of the rebound is controlled by either the CPU or onew of my AI teammates.

For example if I shoot a midrange jumper or 3-pointer with Nash or Marion I will stay in control of that player and not run directly towards the offensive boards or swith to Amare down low when the ball is in air. I also think that ON Ball Physical Defense this year is screwing up Offensive rebounds because it feels like the ball is being suctioned up right into the offensive player. It's kinda hard to explain but I got great results by lowering all rebounding sliders to ZERO accept CPU DEFENSIVE Rebounding.

I need more test results from other guy's before I make this a permanent change.

PM, I'll try your sliders without a doubt. However, I have to ask if I got this right: Say that your playing with your Dynasty, right? Do you have to fix the playbooks for every team, before every game? Or can you fix it the first time you meet each team and it stays that way?
