ABL is pretty much the video game version of what AAU is. You can get extra recruiting points while scouting and playing with High School recruits. As far as starting a cool legacy, it's simple. Pick a small school you want to start with in a closed legacy and build them up and you'll have options to move on, keep building there, set your teams playing style, depth to the way you want etc. Its as close as you can get to being a real college coach video game wise. Just start a closed legacy and enjoy it the way you like to have a realistic coaching style experience

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
One thing that helped me make the Final Four at Drexel I should mention is struck gold too getting a transfer from Texas with a 86 rating that turned into an 89 rating by the time he was eligible for Jr season after sitting out the year of the 1st Rd loss.
After having some time to grow and understand the game more too I've learned too after Charisma to focus alot on Teaching too. It's got me the most out of my players.
I've also seen that building the center position can take your team can take you a notch above your competition. I notice you see a ton of highly rated guards but few Centers and even Power Forwards. All my Final Four runs and Championship runs at UNC I developed a really good Center and during simulation Centers with high ratings dominate. I bad a 95 Center by senior year that won me a national title at UNC and was like Shaq and unguardable in the paint.
I realized too you could really see the difference between College BBall in 2007 when this game out compared to now. I had to remind myself that West Virginia and Louisville were Big East teams, that Butler was still in the Horizon, and Texas A&M was still in the Big 12. Also as part of that difference the year after this game came out was when the one and done era just began. I almost never see one and dones and never see one and dones being key factors in the NCAA Tournament and Leaders in stat categories. I've never had a one and done myself and usually see teams that make deep runs have all Senior and Junior rosters. Makes it easier to recruit not having as frequent one and dones especially 5 star top 10 recruits staying until Senior Year. If it had been like it is in the current landscape I'd likely just recruit 4 star players and try to get at least 2 years out of all my playersComment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Thoughts on these teams:
I want a challenge and possibly a team I stick with for years. Oakland I like, but conference is pretty weak.
Rhode Island/St Louis same updated conference.. just didn't know if Rhode Island would be too easy to recruit too or not. St Louis and Tulsa midwest, maybe tougher to get recruits to come. Tulsa is pretty solid conference as well. I'm not sure I want to start with like super small/bad teams. Any other teams/thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Both of those teams are pretty tough to rebuild you think? I just don't want recruiting to be super easy after 1-3 years. That was my only concern with those teams.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Both have a lot of competition for their in state prospects. Though for Large schools, I do think recruiting becomes easier as you get more successful.Support Local Sports

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Won the national title with Southern of the SWAC, 75% cpu vs cpu and 25% coach games. I can't actually play video games, but I can coach
third national title, won previous two with TCU.
Next challenge....figure out how to get one guy to average 30 ppg on 20:00 halves.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Just had probably my best game I've ever had in College Hoops 2k8. If it were real life itd be considered one of the greatest games of all time and a classic. In 2025 my 10th year at UNC. We finish 1st and Duke 2nd in the ACC. We met Duke again in the ACC Tournament Final and win easily by 16 but that's not the last we'll meet. Duke gets a 3 seed in the same region we get a 1 seed and the possibility of the biggest rivalry in college sports with a chance at the Final Four is intriguing. This happens and we meet in the Elite 8. In a game of runs Duke starts out with runs and has us playing catch up all game. Both teams shot lights out from 3 and the game ends up being a shootout. Our sophomore SG at UNC Victor McDonald is a big time scorer and keeps UNC in the game and eventually ends with 37. They took the ACC Championship Game loss personal and come out on fire. Duke goes to the half up 9 then UNC ties it with a huge run to start the 2nd half. Duke goes on another run and leads by 11 but UNC comes marching back again and with about 1:10 left takes first lead of the game. Duke comeback and hits a 3 to retake the lead. UNC scores again to tie then Duke hits another 3 with about 30 secs left to take the lead. UNC star McDonald ties it with 18 secs left and another 3. Duke now has a chance to win or go to OT but I foul with 2.9 since I have fouls to give and to make it tougher to get off a good shot. My senior PG who has like 4 steals steals the inbound pass and I call quick timeout. I inbound the ball to McDonald who's been on fire he catches it from NBA range and with about 1 second left he fires and it up and swish drills it right at the buzzer. Most nerve racking game I ever played and first time I've ever won a buzzer beater and it's to beat our hated rivals for a Final Four spot. UNC Duke first ever NCAA Tournament match with a buzzer beater to make the Final Four will probably always be the highlight of my legacy and had it been real life would never stop seeing it be replayed for decades on endLast edited by gamewillrip50; 06-16-2020, 03:52 PM.Comment

We lost 6 seniors, 4 of whom were starters but still have high hopes we can make it back to the final four next season!“If you’re true to yourself, you’re going to be true to everyone else.”Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Which roster are you running? I may have the year you're playing and can link a working file. Also I've run into a glitch in the 13-14 roster file that has BC's uniforms bugged out. I'm not sure what I did to screw them up, does anyone a suggestion?RIP G.E.A.
