Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Just finished season 2 at Nevada (season 4 overall), finished 35-1 16-0 WAC (all hoopcast sim). Won WAC reg season and conf tourney titles, got 1 seed in the NCAA Tourney but sadly for the second consecutive year got beaten in the second round this time by 8 seed Texas (rated 87 opposed to my 89) 66-61. Just like last year we didn’t get to the line enough, missed too many shots inside, fouled too much, allowed too many 3 pointers and got very few quality minutes from the bench. The loss was equally disappointing as I thought I had a team that could win the national title. Averaged 89.7 ppg during the season and had a 29.8 average margin of victory.

The season featured a 35 game winning streak (from 12/4/10 to 3/20/11), finished ranked #1 in the Mid-Major Poll, #12 in the Media Poll (reached as high as #4) and #19 in the Coaches Poll (reached as high as #11). My coach Matthew Graves won WAC Coach of the year for the second consecutive season and I had 4 All-WAC players, PG Kennedy Woodards (1st team) SF Dawan Swift (1st team), SG Armon Johnson (2nd team), and B.A. Frey (Freshman team).

I was disappointed with my team’s tourney defense and the overall progression of several players so I used 2 of my recruiting points to improve defense (now rated B) and 2 more to improve teaching (now rated B+), the other point was used to improve offense (now rated B). My overall coach rating is still B and my overall career record is 113-16 (.876) and my NCAA Tourney record is 2-3. Fired assistants Gil Jackson (C+, former Howard HC) and Jim Ferry (C+, former Long Island HC) and replaced them with Jim Yarbrough (B-, former SE Louisiana HC) and Mike Adras (B-, former Northern Arizona HC) who are better at offense, defense, teaching and discipline.

I have 2 seniors departing including 1 starter (SG Armon Johnson-80, SF Malik Cooke-71) but return my 3 highest rated players (SF Swift-90, PG Woodards-89, SG Ma-86) who all will be seniors next season and I am eager to send them out with a national title.

Signed another excellent recruiting class featuring the #3, #6, #24 and #25 players in the country so I am poised to have my best team ever with 12 players rated 75 and up which will give me the quality of depth necessary to play my aggressive offensive style effectively. I am aiming for a perfect season (40-0 record, national championship) in 2011-2012.

My former school Dartmouth (coached by former Georgia HC Dennis Felton) is still doing very well, they finished 22-7 (13-1 Ivy Champions) got a 13 seed and lost to 4 seed UNC 83-69. One of Felton’s assistants D. Rhode got the Princeton job and brought my system with him, it’s good to see my system starting to proliferate in college basketball but he will have a daunting rebuilding project in front of him as Princeton just finished 4-25 and is one of the worst rated basketball teams in the country. Dartmouth loses no seniors so the 2011-2012 season should be their best since I started the run in 2007-2008 (3 straight Ivy League titles, 86-29 record).

        The Nevada program’s current streaks:

Regular season wins: 57 in a row, started 12/22/09
Conference wins: 38 in a row, started 12/30/09
Home wins: 42 in a row, started 1/27/09
Road wins: 32 in a row, started 11/13/08

Good luck with the quest of a perfect season. In my years of playing that is still something I have yet to accomplish. The best I have ever done is a year in which I lost 2 games. Both to #1 teams at the time. But still had a overall record of 36-2, won the national title and had a 10-2 record vs Top 25 teams...

It'll be tough but doable, I basically use the regular season and conf tourney as one long preseason (try to avoid injuries, keeping all 12 player's confidence high, build team unity). I'm going to have my deepest team ever so I will be changing my defensive scheme to man-to-man and will use spurts of extreme defensive pressure to try and make my defense more stout come tourney time. Before I played a relaxed 2-3 matchup zone and was content to keep people out of the lane (thus away from the foul line) and let them shoot 3's and mid-range shots at will but this backfired on me in the tourney as when I played a better team they were hitting those deep shots, turning me over a lot and getting me to foul more than I am used to which threw my team way off and we weren't able to respond.

Good luck. Dartmouth is definitely a challenge. I played 5 games with them, lost all 5 and decided to switch gears as I just wasn't a fan of the style of play.

I just started a new Career Legacy with St. Francis. Lot of guards so I can play up-tempo, which is my preferred style. Lost in OT to Hartford 69-66. I turned the ball over with 2 seconds to go and the CPU hit a 3 at the buzzer for the win. Epic game.

I love the contrast between this game and NCAA Basketball 10, which I'm also playing a lot. I guess March Madness hit me strong this year, lol.

I haven't posted in here in a while...

I'm currently in my 20th season with UCF and have played every single game. This Legacy obviously means a bunch to me. What has made this Legacy and game so great is the ability to recreate my team image over and over again when I get bored.

I've turned UCF into the major power in Conference USA and one of the tops in the country, a la Memphis when they had Calipari. I won my first NCAA title in 2015 after going 34-0 and led by Calvin Worthy who averaged 39 points per game.

I have won six more titles since then but my team now in year 2027 may be the best I have ever had.

Right now my overall rating is a 95 with six games left in the regular season. I think it will go up to a 96 which I have never seen before in the game.

I already have two losses this season after going 35-1 and winning the title last year. I'm led by my junior point guard O'Neal Liberty who is an 87 overall. He averages 23 ppg and 5 apg. I also have one of the great all-around, do-everything players in the history of this legacy in Wang Nguyen (yes, he is from China). Wang has 95 speed, 85 handling and a 94 close shot rating at 6'7" he is a handful for opponents.

Anyway, just have the conference tourney coming up soon and real life March Madness has been putting me in the mood to play as many games as possible.

The most exciting thing is what's to come next season with a recruit I signed. I cheated a little and simmed ahead to see what his ratings will be and I realized that after 20 seasons of playing this legacy, he will be without question the best player I have ever seen.

His name is Jacob Warner, a 6'1" PG and the third overall ranked player in his class. He comes in an 81 OVR (but we all know that doesn't really matter) but he has an 89 3-point rating, 99 speed rating, 82 handle rating and 86 pass rating. This guy is going to be crazy. I have to keep every updated on what he's going to be doing in the next few years.

That's awesome! I hope to maybe be able to turn my Northern Colorado program into that. I just started year 3, it's going to be a good one for me. I have all returning starters, and they can't do anything but progress.

Season 1 - Big Sky regular season champs; Big Sky Tournament Champs; lost in 1st round of NCAA tourney (15 seed)

Season 2 - Big Sky regular and tourney champs; another 1st round loss of NCAA tourney (11 seed)

Hopefully I can get a first round win this year in the tournament.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

So I went on a College Hoops binge this week and finished my first season at UConn. We went 23-10 (13-5), good enough to finish in a tie for first with Louisville (they owned the tiebreaker so got credited with the conf. title. I beat Cincinnati 82-75 in the quarters of the conf. tourney, then lost 73-66 to Providence in the Big East Semifinals. I really felt like I could've dominated the conference this year with a good back court, as I cleaned up on the boards and in the paint almost all season but my backcourt let me down numerous times. I started off 18-4, but finished the regular season on a 3-4 run.

I got a #3 seed in the tournament, and easy took care of #14 seed Long Beach State 81-54. Then faced #6 seed UCLA, and in the end foul trouble did me in and I lost 70-59 in the second round of the tournament. UCLA went on a tear in the tourney, and ended up beating #2 seed UNC 100-94 for the national title. I could've ended up facing my former school Gonzaga in the second round, but UCLA took them down with ease. They had a dissapointing season, going 24-10 (7-7). They were 16-2 in the non-conference, then their ******* new coach somehow managed to lose 7 games in a conference that I went a combined 38-4 in, and they were lucky to be in the tournament (last team in). My former former school #14 seed Texas State almost pulled off a shocker, as they pushed #3 seed Villanova to the brink before coming up short 87-81, and they finished 18-12 (12-4). The last player I ever recruited there graduated this year as a redshirt senior and he was conference player of the year.

The Big East was a monster. We had 9 teams in the NCAA tournament: #1 Louisville, #1 Syracuse, #3 Villanova, #3 UConn (me), #4 Marquette, #8 Providence, #9 Cincinnati, #10 West Virginia, #11 Georgetown. My god, what a conference.

Recruiting was great... I landed the nation's #3 class. Here's a breakdown of it:
                      • 5 Star PG Rashad Baker - 6'0 173 - 91 3pt, 87 med, 86 handle, 87 spd, 85 quick, #2 overall player, #1 PG
                      • 5 star SG E.J. Barron - 6'2 192 - 82 3pt, 81 handle, 87 spd, 85 quick
                      • 3 star SG Evan Noble - 6'4 211 - 86 3 pt, 74 handle, 86 spd, 85 quick
                      • 3 star C Eddie Craft - 7'0 231 - 80 low D, 79 blk, 80 strength, 82 close, 79 FT
The best thing about this class is that I'm beginning to get the roster I want... Noble is a great pick up and a type of player I've had success with in the past, that 3* SG with solid size and a great stroke from beyond the arc, very much in the mold of Kent House from my Gonzaga days (who is on his way to becoming Gonzaga's all-time leading scorer). Baker is going to be a great one, reminds me a lot of Scottie Reynolds and this kid can ball. Barron is a good weapon who should progress into a solid #2, and Craft has some pretty good attributes that should make him a good center in a couple of years and he has that size I want in this game.

I've got a dominant front court coming back next year still even with graduating 2 guys...
                      • C Micah Hernandez - So 7'2 290 - Pre-Season 1st team All-American - 94 off. reb, 96 def. reb, 90 low off., 95 close, 83 strength, 81 block
                      • PF Kevin Carpenter - Sr 6-7 242 - Pre-Season 1st Team All-American - 91 close, 94 low off., 91 low def., 91 off reb., 81 def. reb, 80 spd, 78 quick
The Big East is loaded again this year... here's the teams in the pre-season top 25: #1 Louisville, #2 Syracuse, #5 Villanova, #10 UConn (Me), #20 Seton Hall, #23 West Virginia. It's gonna be another rough year.

I plan on taking the Ohio State job as soon as it comes open so here's a Thad Matta update: A 13-18 (4-14) season with no post-season and a ****ty recruiting class is helping out my future job prospects in Columbus. His job security drops by 1/4 and he could be out in a couple of seasons.

I want a national title soon... I've been playing this game for a long *** time and I've never won a national championship. Closest I came was a national title loss with my Buckeyes in an open legacy (Ohio State losing a national title game? What a shock right?
Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati Reds

I've missed this game so much, so I'm starting a new career legacy right now. Created my coach and all, and once I get to the choose team screen, I am stunned to see my actual school (Bethune-Cookman) as one of the choices (maybe it's due to the 07-08 roster I have, I've never noticed this til today). Now in what I expected to be a quick 4-5 year stop might turn into a longer one.

March Madness has me back into this. I moved Holy Cross to Denver, CO and remade the Summit League into a western-centered league. It's enjoyable stuff.

I am now in my second year with Loyola Marymount. Despite getting blown out in the first round of the conference tourny to Gonzaga, I got an 8 seed in the tournament. I had to face George Washington in the first round.

After spending most of the 2nd half trailing, I ended up pulling out a 1 point win. As I went back to the legacy calender, I thought to myself, well at least I won one, because I got 1 seeded North Carolina next, but to my surpise, I didn't have to play UNC. It turned out, 16 seeded UC Santa Barbara made history beating UNC 106-104 in overtime. Now I get to play a team rated 77 overall, instead of 94, and I have a great opportunity to make my first Sweet 16.

Has anyone else ever seen a 16 beat a 1 in their legacy?
