Do you guys ever create recruits that are in or close to the city of the school you are using? Just curious. Sometimes that helps me land more talented players than I would using cpu generated recruits.

I do. I started doing that when I was coaching UMASS and Brown, but rarely got any. But, I managed to get a 4 star PG I created in one of the final years at UMASS. I stopped because powerhouse teams always swoop in and take my players. But with Texas, I managed to get a 5 star Center I created. The only problem is knowing how to rate them. It is hard to know if they will come in as a 3-5 star and not giving them too high ratings. I made my 5 star Center balanced with great vertical

I was just curious. I normally create about 10 guys and make 2 of them from the same city of the team that I'm using. Most of the time I'm able to land at least 1 of them, as long as I keep them in the 3-4 star range. The only time I've ever landed a 5 star recruit that I created was during a WVU dynasty. If I'm using mid-major or smaller, I've never landed a 5 star, which I'm ok with. Normally, I don't even target those guys and focus my recruiting on an occasional 4 star, but mostly 2 and 3 star guys that fill a need on my roster.

I've never created a recruit before. I usually scan through the 3 star guys that fit my style, or 4 star guys that fall through the cracks. Sometimes you'll find some real gems just by searching which recruits haven't been offered and don't have anyone high on their list. Of course, it's also very difficult to climb up their interest list, but if nobody else jumps in, he'll be yours in the off season.

I tried it awhile ago once and it was too frustrating. Creating local recruits and having UNC, Duke, KU scoop them up seemed like a waste of time to me. I might just keep two ongoing dynasties. One that I building up and than a 5* program. Maybe UNC or UCLA. When I building a program getting a "perfect" fit 3* or 4* recruit is soooo sweet!

How many teams does CH2k8 have in it? Im thinking about picking it up because I miss having a college basketball game.

Almost every school competing in Division I NCAA college basketball at the time was included in 2K8, including recent additions South Carolina-Upstate, Cal State-Bakersfield and Florida Gulf Coast. Not included were Presbyterian College and North Carolina Central, D-1 independents. Also, Centenary College of the Summit League was unlicensed and instead named UL-Calcutta.

Just so I'm clear it's not really possible to build up a team into a powerhouse that's recruiting like the UNC's, Dukes, and Kansas' Ohio States, FLorida's right? Regardless of championships and success? Besides those programs, what others do you guys notice that can recruit nationally?

You can recruit from pretty much anywhere TBH. Just like in real life, it's pretty rare that the 5* recruits don't go to the big schools, but there's plenty of quality 4* guys you can get to any school once you build them up a bit. Don't expect to walk in and get 5* and 4* guys right off the bat, though.

Excellent Post...I'm the Hartford Hawks, and now in my 5th Year (having success each Season), have gotten 3 4*'s. 2 Recruits, 1 Transfer from USC.

I also have had some 5*'s interested, but not quite enough where I've landed one yet...

                              It's LT+A on 360, so I'd say L2+X on PS3?
