I never said Kobe was the best because of his two recent triple doubles. That's not what the articles says either. All those triple doubles prove is that Kobe can do whatever he wants on the court. I'd love to see Kidd go out and post back to back 40 point games.

Well, the article said kobe is a leader. And it said that's true because the true mark of a leader is the triple double.

I'd love to see Kobe go out and put out back to back 18 assist nights. It's pretty easy to argue something that players don't do. Kidd doesn't score 40 a night the same way Kobe doesn't dish 18 a night.

But, hey, maybe I just talk about what actually happens out on the court too much.

To say if kobe and kidd swithced places the lakers would still win is ridiculous. Yes kidd is good but the lakers did not have the type of players that the nets had. Jason Kidd plays and up and down the court fast paced game which would not be very compatible to the lakers team and style of play. Shaq doesn't want to be running up a down the floor all the time. If jason kidd has to play mainly an half court game he isnt nearly as effective. They would have gotten beaten by sacramento. Tracy Mcgrady is maybe the only other person you could switch with kobe and they still win last year. Maybe the other two years they could have won with a few other people.

This may spark another debate, but Kobe and Jordan will always be linked because of their work ethic and their will to win. As Jordan did, Kobe adds to his game each and every year. Fifteen pounds of muscle added, and improved three point shooting this year from a guy who has three titles and is already considerd among the best? Let's be real guys, Kobe is the best in the league and will only continue to get better, his work ethic and desire to be the best is only comparable to the greatest player ever Jordan!!!!!

And for those other player: Don't even mention Kobe and Iverson in the same sentence, Kobe works on his game and Iverson does'nt even want to practice? Advantage Kobe. Kobe improves each and every year and Kidd has been in the league how long and still does'nt have a jumper? Advantage Kobe. T Mac makes things a little tougher, but his intensity level doesn't match Kobe from opening tip to the end of the game. You would think this would be reversed seeing as how T Mac has'nt got a ring yet. Advantage Kobe.

yup, the work ethic is another big plus for Kobe, i think everyone can agree that he is one of the hardest working players in the NBA. That's rare for a guy his age (remember he's only 24) with that much talent.

there are plenty of players, they would have won with and still would win with. As long as shaq's on the floor Payton, Kidd, McGrady, Carter(healthy), Iverson, Pierce, Garnett, Marion, etc etc etc.........

that's a bunch of bull. The Big "O" averaged triples and couldn't win till Kareem got there. if Kobe's such a leader, why didn't he try to put points on the board when the game (Cavs- Tues.) was still in reach. he, instead, chose to give the ball to Walker (who sucks!) for a 20 fter.!? leardership is doing what it takes to get your team the win no matter what the situation.

if the Lakers were down 1 with a few seconds on the clock, Fisher hit 4 straight 3's and Kobe didn't make a shot the entire half, i would expect Kobe get Fisher the ball for the game winning shot. why? because its the right thing to do. Fisher is on FIRE! but i don't think Kobe would do that. he's not getting TD's because he's doing it in the flow of his game. he's looking at the stats and seeing what it is he needs. the other night when the Lakers beat Portland and he had a TD already. he began looking for his shots to win the game. he went on a tear and lit Patterson up. that's what he should've done Tues.

that means nothing! T-Mac goes at his competition ever night! that's way he's considered the best along with Kobe. don't get it twisted, Kobe has those 3 ring , mainly because of Shaq. we now see how the Lakers do without him (Shaq). if you remember, MJ didn't have PiP for the first half of the 97-98 season, and he still was able to get the Bulls to the second best record in the East til PiP returned.

Kobe's game is really no different from 2 years ago. when the Laklers won the first title, kobe was doing the same things he's doing now. there are two differences from then, he's not as good as a defender, and he's added 15 lbs. I like Kobe, and i really enjoy watching this kid do his thing, but he really needs to find himself out there on the court. my advice to Kobe, stop listening to those critics and play YOUR game...

Oh my god!! Who are you?!? anyways..... I didn't think i was taking an out. I gave numerous points as to why Kobe was better than Kidd. All you can say is Kidd is a great floor leader and controls the tempo of the game. The fact is you're just wrong, plain and simple. No person in their right mind says Jason Kidd is a better basketball player than Kobe Bryant.
I'm sick of all the Kobe hating, we're just talking in circles here. The biggest argument seems to be Kobe can't win without Shaq, but then again Shaq can't win without Kobe, but then again Shaq and Kobe didn't win anything until Phil got there. Would Shaq win with T-Mac instead of Kobe? maybe, maybe not? Would Shaq win with J.Kidd in place of Kobe? I say no. The triangle offense doesn't need a point guard like Kidd. Anyways.... blah blah blah... we could go on forever.
