Iverson not giving a Olympic Invitation.......
They're annoucing this on ESPN however they're not saying why. Does anyone know why, I mean you would think that with 25 invitations that he would deserve one.........I always wanted to be somebody, but I should have been more specific!Tags: None -

You're right. But....with that being said, the main complaint most people had with the last Olympic team was that none of them gave a damn. And without having seen the list, I would bet very few of them give more of a damn about winning games, Olympic or otherwise, than AI.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

I thought it was a image issue but then I remembered Kobe is on the team.
USA probably just wants more fresh blood at the Olympics.Comment

That's a bit surprising as AI really played hard over in Greece. Well let's see who's on the list before we jump off the deep end.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

AI will be 33 at the time of the 2008 Summer Olympics. Just something else to consider.
I'm not against him being left off, however, if the team is nothing more than a collection of the NBA's elite...then his omission is ridiculous. I want the best team, not the best talent.Comment

Re: Iverson not giving a Olympic Invitation.......
They probably did it because, they have someone all ready that can do everything in Kobe. They don't need a shoot first PG, and probably will go with either Chris Paul or even maybe TJ Ford. I think they are going for a well rounded team with at least 4 stars, and the rest role players.President of the Devils Den

Re: Iverson not giving a Olympic Invitation.......
I'm surprised with all the people on here who complain about players not wanting to play in the olympics that there isn't more outrage. AI is one of the few players who actually wants to be there and he plays just as hard as he does every night. It's crazy if he really isn't being given an invitation.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

I wonder what the average age of this team will be? Maybe even some college kids thrown in the mix as well?Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Originally posted by SPTOIf the team is going to be a couple stars and a bunch of role guys then the fact that AI is 33 should be all the more reason for having him there. He's been to an Olympic games before and he could provide veteran leadership.

According to this, there are going to be 22 NBA'ers, 2 college players, 1 high-schooler.Comment
