Sorry, but I'll take a 33 year old Iverson over 75% of the league.....
I always wanted to be somebody, but I should have been more specific!

Re: Iverson not giving a Olympic Invitation.......

On talent, skill etc Iverson should be one of the first picked.

On the previous Olympics Iverson should be one of the first picked.

He was one of the few who actually played with heart, pride and a purpose during the games.

Yet they will pick the poster boys who all missed wide open jumpers, shot airballs, hit the side of the backboard etc.

That's why basketball fans looking at the USA team from the outside will continue to laugh at the players picked and the style of play. Not to mention the attidudes, ego's and the utter foul language on the court...

        Good luck.

Ya'll know that Riddick is going cause he's a great shooter. I personally think that they are looking for more role players that won't complain about getting touches. We also need shooters which was clearly missing last time. I hope that whoever we get sincerely steps up and shows great team ball. I was hurt a little but Iverson already won a gold medal didn't he? Let some more people grab some too.......
Stop it!! Ultimate me player?????? Then a third of the people on that list shouldn't be there.

This is ultimate bull****. There is no reason one of the best players in the league (Not only didn't make the team) dude didn't even get an invite. It's disgusting

I dont get it. They get mad when big name stars dont want to go..Iverson made it no secret he wanted to go back. He played his heart out last year (one of the few) and now he isnt even asked...Its BS.

I wonder if Colangelo will publicly say why he left Iverson in the dust. I think USA Basketball is still in great shape with the players they got, but Iverson must off rubbed Colangelo the wrong way since the Olympics.

I'm thinking this is a Coach K move and I don't think it's right. This guy will have veteran leadership, he was a captain in Athens. He deserves this more than any other player. You think in a day and age when so many players refuse to play they would show respect to someone who wants to play for his country. This is an outrage.

K isn't doing the selecting. Steven A said on the radio yesterday...it's all Jerry C doing the inviting. Steven even asked him "Why are you making millionares tryout for a team?" He said "It will show us who wants it, and who doesn't." Seems to me USA Basketball has learned from the past few years.

AI will be 33/34 when the Olympics will start.

People seem to forget that in 3 years, some players will get better and some will be on the downside of their careers. AI being a guard who plays with wreckless abandon is one of the latter.

AI, at age 34, will be better than Luke Ridnour will ever be at any time. Bank it.

Too bad Ridnour is more of a pure point guard and JC is thinking that Rid' is exactly what they need as they have more than enough scorers.

I think some people don't realize how good of a floor general Rid' is. He will continue to improve and become a player that can get 8-9 assists per game.
