leopards don't change their spots kruza.

believe me, if he didn't think it was important in and after the finals... he won't now.

its embarrasing seeing a 7 footer flopping on long jumpshots over and over.... especially when he has the stroke to hit set jumpers.

Dirk has been getting a lot of offensive rebounds. Hes been really good on the offensive boards, but i agree that hes still not in the post enough

...however, when he is in the post, Dirk is being swarmed in the post also. The Warriors are on him when he touches the ball wherever that happens to be on the court. GS has also been really good at denying him the ball, and guarding the pick and roll.

The Mavs have actually been trying to drive inside quite a bit. It seems to me that GS has been trying to compensate for their lack of inside size and they are basically giving up the outside to Dallas most of the time. For example, the zone at the end of the game last night was giving wide open outside shots. The Mavs just are not hitting enough shots, including Dirk. It's as simple as that imo. and the Warriors are hitting everything.

I have no problem with Dirk not being in the post since he's such a good shooter, but he keeps flopping on his shot instead of shooting it normally. Infact, it's not just him that's doing it, a few players are flopping and falling to the ground as they are shooting.

it sucks that Dallas is starting the playoffs the same way they started the regular season.

Dirk can pass the ball to cutters and open shooters from the low block and still be in position to crash the boards on missed shots from his teammates along with DeSagana Diop. The Warriors will then think twice about collapsing on him like they have done so often in this series.

                This is exactly right.

I wonder if KG or Duncan replaced Dirk, would the series be different?

Dirk needs to step up, but with the constant double and triples the Warriors are throwing at him, the rest of the Mavs roster needs to stop bricking so many wide open shots. and Dirk needs to get the ball to them as accurately as he was in the regular season. Hes passing it out, but many of his passes have been innacurate this playoff series.

again, Dirk needs to be better in the series. He needed to have been better last night, but Dirk still had 23 points/15 boards/and 4 steals last night. The Mavs should be able to win with that kind of production from Dirk.

They need to shoot better obviously, and they need to play better perimeter defense.

Perhaps. Game 7 of the '05 Playoffs against the Mavs was right-up there as well. Either way, T-Mac, Yao, & the Rockets need to show-up tonight. Their performance in the last 2 games have been lackluster and a bit uninspired -- very sloppy as well.

Considering all the attention the Warriors have been paying to Dirk in this series, the court has been open quite often for his teammates . The rest of the roster needs to shoot better from the inside and the outside...Dirk has been getting the ball out, but he needs to be as accurate on his passes as he was in the regular season. He hasnt been as accurate in his passes this series. but Dirk isnt going to score 35 with all of the doubles and triples that the Warriors are sending at him.

I think that is more a fact of Dirk's non-existent passing. His numbers for the series are somewhat decent, but he is averaging 2 assists a game and only shooting 40% from the field. He is being outmatched and outplayed on both ends. Warriors are really exposing him defensively where he has always been pretty terrible by isolating him and going at him off the dribble. Which usually ends up in a layup or a wide open 3 pointer. Then they are exposing him offensively by double-teaming him anytime he dribbles causing him to pass the ball something he is not every good at. BTW those thinking this is some kind of fluke or the Warriors are lucky need a reality check. Warriors have beaten the Mavs 9 out of the past 11 times they have played the past two seasons.
