Very interesting. When he had the most dominant center in the league he didn't want him. Now he is feeling what the AI's, KG's, and McGrady's have had to go through their whole career. Carrying a team by your lonesome is no picnic. Kobe really had a perfect hand, and I don't think he really appreciated or realized it at the time.

No he didn't appreciated it and he has admitted so (not that I think Kobe "forced" Shaq out, as some people choose to believe).- universal truth is not measured in mass appeal -Comment

That was DURING the game. The game's over and you're still talking about it while I didn't hear a peep out of Kobe about the refs during the postgame press.- universal truth is not measured in mass appeal -Comment

Of course you care.
I actually said I also dislike the Warriors offense, and used as an example how pitiful they looked when they weren't taking ridiculous shots.
You know very well that the Suns halfcourt offense consists of: 2 guys "spacing" the floor (read: stand around the perimiter) and Nash running a myriad of PnR's until somone A. loses track of the backdoor cut, B. One of the PnR's works, or C. Someone sags off of one of those dudes for an open 3. Throw in Barbosa taking whoever his man is to the hole occasionally through the "spaced" floor, and you have what is to me a boring, predictable, high risk/reward offense that I just don't enjoy. As long as those treys's go down at a decent percentage, these bums can always rely on some kind of magical 10-point run to materialize eventually. Without a spoon-feeding facilitator like a Nash, this would be a lottery team. You know it.
You make it sound like its a fluke offense. Let's not forget the suns are #1 in scoring, FG%, 3 FG%, assist and Free Throw %. That's every OFFENSIVE CATEGORY in the NBA.
They have led the NBA in scoring for the last 3 years. Tell me what kind of offense do you really enjoy? Do you prefer one on one basketball and hope the superstar can make some specatular move like Lebron or have 5-6 guys in double figures where everyone is involved as a TEAM.
The reason these "BUMS" make their 3's is because they ARE WIDE OPEN. The suns don't chuck it, they try to find the best shot possible. My guess why you are hating on the suns is because you wish you had a team that can play like them.Comment

Kobe has too much pride to blame the loss on anything other than himself. I'm sure he thinks that he should've made a few more of his shots or powered through when guys hit him on the arm. The truth is that the Lakers may have won the game if Kobe was given calls when he was gitting hit on the arm when he drove or if Amare wasn't getting calls every single time he shot. Kobe knows theres nothing he can do about it now so hes not gona complain and get a fine. IMO the Suns are a better team than the Lakers but that doesn't mean the refs should get off the hook for calling the game poorly and that we shouldn't be able to complain.Comment

That's the thing that amazes me about the Suns. They shoot fast, but the number of their shots that would be considered "good" shots is astounding.- universal truth is not measured in mass appeal -Comment

Actually I gave two examples of teams I like to watch. Teams that feature good ball movement where the all the players move, all the players cut. Teams where you'll see some three shooting, some 2-man, some 1-on-1, some post game. Variety. Still sharing the ball just as much. Scroll back a bit.
When Kobe was out there jacking 3's I called him on it to. It's sickening...but the cool part is that it ALWAYS fails eventually, usually when things are at their most tense because freewheeling style and high pressure normally don't mix. Bottom line, the Suns can't tie their shoes without Nash and it speaks to how marginally skilled most of this roster is, point made by how very mediocre this team is whenever Nash is out of the lineup.
I like good ball-movement as much as the next guy, but I also enjoy watching great players challenge defenses...not spread them out from sideline to sideline and hide from them now that guards like Nash can move around with impunity with the "spacing" these guys create by launching treys all game. Ten years ago, a defender had a shot at controlling a Steve Nash on the perimeter and slowing down that screen game. Now, the rules let this dude flap around like a little hummingbird. There can be a balance. At least the Warriors have some guys who can make their own offense. Either way, I really hope the Spurs bury this team, and along with their style.
I'm probably alone on this, but I happen to like defensive games. I respect that some folks like this type of Euro basketball...just not one of them.Last edited by HMcCoy; 05-03-2007, 03:39 AM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

No, I don't particularly care for Kobe Bryant, but the guy is an amazing offensive talent and his defense, while definitely not all-defensive team caliber (despite what the voters say), is improving yearly. With that said, there is VERY little the Lakers could've done to win this series. I don't care if your name is Kobe, Jordan, Magic, or Wilt, you are not winning anything being a one-man show.Comment

Some of the whining by this NoSkillz50 guy is worse than what us Mavs fans did last year.

So, do Golden State fans still want to say how every Mavs player is a flopper and every one on the Warriors is a golden boy?

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

I'm bringing this up because I'm sick of Golden State fans whining about the Mavericks flopping all the time. Newsflash, every team in the league does it. Stop pretending that your team never does. It gets old.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
