Re: ***Official 2007 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread***
Just a quick note:
to those die-hard Lakers fans in this thread complaining about the refs, they did NOT affect the outcome of this series. The Lakers lack of energy coupled with the fact that the Suns are a superior affected caused the outcome of this series.
And if you don't enjoy watching the Suns execute, then you simple are not a fan of basketball.Comment

The only foul the Lakers should have gotten was a technical on Kobe, which he got FAR TOO LONG after he should have gotten one in the first place.Comment

Its pretty hard to prove but the Lakers could have won this game had it been called fairly. I don't see how you can say it didn't affect the series at all. The Lakers could have won tonight and made it 2-3 going home had it been called differently. Theres no way of knowing for sure but its not that much of a stretch to say we could've won if the refs were better.Comment

Re: ***Official 2007 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread***
I think the NBA refs realize the emotion that runs through the game during this time, if they gave techs for that, everyone would have a T some point in the playoffs. It takes a lot to get T in MOST playoff games (the Dallas series though is the exception.)
Also can't give a foul to a guy who is rightfully complaining.
Overall though, there have been many bad games called this year. The Media needs to start bashing some of these refs and pointing out when a game has been called horribly. All these ticky-tacky fouls need to go.Last edited by Leahmic223; 05-03-2007, 01:23 AM.Comment

So they shouldn't get fouls when people hit Kobes arm every time he got in the paint? Seriously though, those were obviously fouls. Kobe got bumped harder than Amare almost every time he drove or he got slapped on the arm. Why do you think he shouldn't have got fouls called on those plays?Comment

Sure there were some bad calls, there are always gonna be bad calls and I didn't notice a great amount of them tonight. There's no point to even discussing the officiating as it had no affect on the outcome of the game or the series. The season is over for the Lakers, no one on the Laker's roster is thinking about "how horrible the calls were." The better team won this game because they played better tonight and the better team is going to the semis because they played better in this series.Last edited by imaged; 05-03-2007, 01:33 AM.- universal truth is not measured in mass appeal -Comment

Re: ***Official 2007 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread***
What are you talking about? You have things inverted. Low percentage basketball? You mean because guys like Amare, Nash, Bell, and Barbosa were in the upper tier of field goal percentage during the season?
Constant movement? Are you telling me the Suns dont move around? You're telling me GS moves around better? You're telling me GS has looked good? You want bad percentage shots? What about those HORRIBLE shots they kept taking? What in the world...I must be living in bizarro world.
Oh well, I don't even care. Carry on.
I actually said I also dislike the Warriors offense, and used as an example how pitiful they looked when they weren't taking ridiculous shots.
You know very well that the Suns halfcourt offense consists of: 2 guys "spacing" the floor (read: stand around the perimiter) and Nash running a myriad of PnR's until somone A. loses track of the backdoor cut, B. One of the PnR's works, or C. Someone sags off of one of those dudes for an open 3. Throw in Barbosa taking whoever his man is to the hole occasionally through the "spaced" floor, and you have what is to me a boring, predictable, high risk/reward offense that I just don't enjoy. As long as those treys's go down at a decent percentage, these bums can always rely on some kind of magical 10-point run to materialize eventually. Without a spoon-feeding facilitator like a Nash, this would be a lottery team. You know it.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Re: ***Official 2007 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread***
can't you Laker fans just admit that YOU LOST BY GETTING OUTPLAYED BY A BETTER TEAM??? Or is Kobe the only person ever to play the game of basketball that can win a title all by himself IF the refs officiated fairly?Comment

Can you admit that Kobe wasn't getting fouls called on plays where he was being bumped harder than Amare was while Amare was shooting 20 fts.Comment
