Okay, that's enough.
DW, like his boy Tim Duncan, couldn't handle being called for a foul, which was called by a certain ref here at OS (*cough*).
He is no longer here.
End of story.
Back on topic please. Playoffs people, playoffs!Comment

Re: ***Official 2007 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread***
I actually just got a good look at the fight and here's my take:
1. Horry WILL be suspended, no question.
2. Diaw will be suspended for RUNNING off the bench. He actually LOOKED like he was going towards the fight.
3. Stoudamire will NOT be suspended. He did not run towards the melee, he still had his towel around his neck and he slowly was walking towards the scorer's table area. I honestly don't think he will get suspended. If he does, honestly, the NBA SERIOUSLY needs to look over their rules. Punishing the Suns more than the Spurs for something the Spurs CLEARLY started is asinine, utterly asinine.Comment

Honestly, they were just playing around, no harm done until Stu Jackson post his verdict tommorrow or in the next couple of days.

Re: ***Official 2007 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread***
People need to calm down and realise it's just a game...and this is just a forum.
I say that as someone who took a 6 month break from here at one stage as I was getting too angry. Actually, that had more to do with general life...i ended up hitting a guy at a football game and busting his cheekbone clean open. (He was assaulting an old man over a seat, so I felt justified)
As the police came down though...I had one of those "WTF am i doing" moments in life. Thankfully it washed over. People need to have those "wtf" moments and change / calm down. Hopefuly DW Rutlelegde will realise that and come back. Same with Matrix (in his case, before he gets banned!)
Nowadays...I'm Mr CalmComment

Re: ***Official 2007 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread***
Wow, I had to work tonight and missed the best game of the series. Im somewhat shocked by Horry doing that, has he really done anything bad in his entire career besides throwing the towel in Ainge's face when in Phoenix? Horry never seemed like a dirty player, there has to be something more to the story, I just cant imagine that Horry went from being, what I would refer to as a model citizen, to being a dirty player. The entire incident with Bell was nothing really, as with any hard foul, all team mates feel the need to posture up and look tough, in the end it isnt much different then a baseball brawl, meaning its all show and no go. Personally I hate the rule in regards to suspending anyone for leaving the bench area, its stupid and needs to be altered to some degree but I doubt that will happen, that would be like Stern admitting it doesnt work in its current state.
Secondly, let me preface this next comment by saying that I sincerely want Phoenix to win this series, but some Phoenix fans should stop crying. I agree that Bowen is a filthy, dirty player, Im no fan of anyone on that team for that matter, but the Suns have their own supposed enforcer in Bell, are we forgetting this is the same guy who clobbered Kobe in the playoffs recently? You cant really talk about the Spurs like they are so horrible when Bell isnt exactly the cleanest player in the league either. Lastly, if Phoenix can get some sort of production consistently from Marion then this wont be a series but Marion cant seem to step it up, in this series he is averaging 14.75 points and 8.75 rebounds per game compared to 17.5 and 9.8 during the regular season but the averages dont even really show the whole story, he had 12 points tonight and only 5 in game two.Comment

If you guys actually saw the footage, you saw Bell walking towards the scene, and Horry was walking out of the scene. As Horry was walking off, he saw Bell coming and thought that he was coming towards him. Bell was just coming towards Nash. But I guess you guys know more than I do. Whatever, man. Anything is excused, I guess.Comment

Appreciate the advice, I can handle myself. Thanks.
I just don't see how people can say this is Bell's fault. But whatever. Nothing you or I or anyone else says makes a difference.
BTW, C_V, I don't think I've done anything that would indicate a ban or a break. I have not called a city "gay", I have not personally attacked anyone, I am just heated. See, that's the difference between a "good, hard foul" and a "dirty play", if we want to use basketball terminology
Back to the playoffs. Man, as much as these games have pissed me off, esp. considering Phoenix has played HORRIBLE, I cannot wait till Wednesday. Marion's production is down because he's guarding Parker, so his rebounding totals will take a hit. He, however, sparked the run in the 4th. There have been many others that have played worse than him. This isn't a case of Marion slacking off.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 05-15-2007, 01:34 AM.Comment

I sincerely wasnt trying to be a prick, just dont want to see them keep egging you on and you take the bait, everything should simmer down with DW leaving though. Im right there with you, I think the ref's in this series have been anything but consistent, but thats more a problem that NBA has had for years and Im not so sure why its this year where people are finally willing to admit it, and by everyone I mean columinist and talking heads on ESPN. Apologies if I came across as a prick, wasnt meant that way at all.Comment

Tomorrow is gonna be interesting. I really hope Stu and Stern realize that Amare and Diaw did nothing to start or even instigate a fight here. It was just a dirty play by Horry and when your star goes crashing into the scorer's table, who wouldn't get up and check on your boy?Comment

Some of the Mavs fans' complaints in the finals last year were legit, but that's really neither here nor there. I'm just hoping for a game with less whistles next time around.Comment
