Pimping219... Duncan playing like his usual solid self? Solid, again, the biggest understatement that Duncan constantly receives in this forum...

He's the true MVP of the NBA and of this era. This game, and all his other standout games make this a true statement.

This series is boring. I could only watch about two minutes of the second half before I lost interest.

I like Lebron, but the Spurs are the NBA favored son and who wants to watch that ****.

I agree with the person who said both these teams can get in droughts but SA is more apt to come out of it that CLE. They got 3 guys who make their own shots plus a lot more compitent shooters to kick it out to, meaning when the drought starts to happen, I like their chances of getting out of it and back into control far more than the Cavs. The Cavs' A-game is not on the same level as the Spurs/

I know you guys think you get no respect but well, that's just how the cookie crumbles sometimes. If it helps, I don't feel like the Pistons would have fared any better with their current lineup.
Detroit had 5 guys who can do that...like I have been saying...the Spurs arent just NOT playing well...it has something to do with the Cavs defense...yesterday our defense was okay...and great at some points...its has to be great for 48 mins in order for us to have a shot at winning this whole thing...Cavs in 6

Let us not forget that last year the Mavs looked just as good as the Spurs did last night in thier game one finals against the Heat against a weak East opponent and they lost that series.

so you're basically saying that they will play great defense for 48 minutes.

            I'll respect that.

I just won't have any of it.

I'll never understand what the NBA has to gain from favoring a team that isn't going to get big ratings from their style of play, is from a small market, and has a star player that lives off the radar. The NBA is thrilled to have Lebron in the finals, it gives them a name and face to sell, I think Lebron may star in a commercial every single time out, people who don't know anything about or follow basketball know Lebron. The spurs are sucessful because they're the best team, people need to accept that cuz its not changing anytime soon.

Looks like it is going to be yet another grind it out no offense series in the nba finals. NBA really needs a running team to make it to the finals so we can see some exciting games. Game one was boring unless your a Cavs or Spurs fan if they games are like this the ratings will be low.

I thought the game was fairly good. There were different defensive strategies used by both teams.

The Cavaliers have a chance of stealing a game at AT&T Center if they do a good job of keeping Tony Parker from getting to the basket or foul line on his 1-man fast breaks. In my opinion Parker is the X-factor behind the scoring spurts the Spurs go on occasion, and Cleveland can't allow him to do that.

Also, Big Z has to become a force scoring inside the paint, and not just on crashing the boards for tip-ins. The Cavs offense has to be able to be run through him successfully at times so the Spurs D can't have 3 or 4 guys keying in on LeBron James so often.

Illgauskus is pretty much useless. Everytime I've seen the Cavaliers play I see him getting beat for rebounds by smaller players and just hindering the team. A guy that tall should not have to fight to get shots off.

And that's the one thing that makes me say I think Cleveland still has a chance. I thought Dallas was a sure bet to win last year after taking the first two games and we all saw how that turned out.

Its normally true that 2 missed calls wont alter the game but it also sets the way the game is going to get called, Lebron bouncing off of Oberto with no call, not to mention the numerous times Lebron felt that he was hit when driving will cause that player to begin to settle and not drive anymore and I think thats what happened. If Verajao gets more of those charges called, maybe the Spurs are either in foul trouble or a little more hesitant to drive the hole as frequently, so much of basketball is a mind game and when your in foul trouble you start to think about it, when your not getting calls you start to think about it, thats all Im saying.

I never thought that a compliment being given to a player I cant stand would elicit such a response. Duncan is solid, solid isnt a bad thing, I normally take it to mean the player brings the same thing to the court night in and night out, or that he is ultra consistent. Im not sure there is anything else I can say to show that Duncan is a great PF that seems to be the most consistent player in the league.

Good gawd, do you have anything else? Every retort is Mavs related. Yeah, they got beat. It wasn't pretty. That seems like a month ago. Oh yeah, it was.

I'm just commenting on this series. I wouldn't be surprised if San Antonio drilled Cleveland by 20+ in four straight games.

And I despise the Spurs. They're the No. 1 rival to Dallas. But the truth is the truth.

Cleveland is an 8th seed in the west.
