Barkley said on his preview show that Kobe is a fine player, but he does not make the players around him better. In other words, he does not raise the level of his teammates. BTW, Charles, Tim, Sean, and others have agreed that Tim Duncan is the most Dominant player of the game right now as I have said REPEATLY. He affects both sides of the ball, defense and offense. If you want to win a championship, you must be able to have a consistent post up player. Duncan is that and more. Garnett is one my favorite player, but he doesn't want to bang down low every night. Thus, they are perimeter team that will not go far in the playoffs.
<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">i disagree with barkley. besides two players the lakers team is all scrubs. take any one of those two guys out or even both of them and they are worse than the nuggets. i watch alot of laker games and i have seen both shaq an kobe try to push the supporting cast and make them better but many many a time they could not deliver, they dont have the ability to. one player can only do so much and in the end if the ball doesnt get in the basket its a L. think about it...i rarely see anyone else recently on the lakers beside kobe steal a ball, block a shot, create an open look for them self, take a charge. shaq and horry grab rebounds but no one else really does jack but give these two guys the ball. when the shot clock is running down the ball has to be in the hands of the guy who can score.....simply as that. that being said i'm a laker fan and even a fan of the scrubs on the team.
