There is no way that Lebron doesn't win this year. Even if the Kobe and the Lakers finish with a slightly better record than Lebron and the Cavs, Lebron still gets the nod IMO.

Re: MVP Discussions
Wade has no chance. According to trends, there hasn't been an MVP from a team that DIDN'T host at least the first round in like 20 something years. I don't see it being any different this year. Wade has no realistic chance. The media ,ight talk about it but he has no chance
It is all about LeBronConcrete evidence/videos pleaseComment

Re: MVP Discussions
Here is my breakdown:
The Favorite: LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers
If you look at his numbers this season you'd think he was just having a normal 'Lebron-type' year. However, I feel that he's elevated his status as a playmaker to championship contender level. I know he’s brought Cleveland to the brink of a championship in 2007. But let’s be honest, did you think they were really going to beat San Antonio in a seven game series that year? OK, you can stop laughing. This year it’s going to be different. If they make it to the Finals this year expect them to be a serious threat to win it all. And if they do, expect LeBron to be the MVP of the Finals.
Possible but not quite the favorite: Dwayne Wade, Miami Heat
No doubt about it, Wade has been lighting it up the for the last month. And because of his recent streak, he’s moved ahead of Kobe in the MVP race. Unfortunately, one month doesn’t make an MVP. BUT if he happens to have another month of Jordan-type numbers then he could give LeBron a serious run at the MVP.
Still Lurking: Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers
It’s still not out of the realm of possibility that he could steal the MVP and win his second straight MVP award. If he has a run like Wade these past couple of weeks he could be in serious consideration. As goofy as it sounds, because his team is much better this year it hurts his MVP chances.
The Longshot: Chris Paul, New Orleans Hornets
Watched a game against the Bulls this year without Paul and the Hornets looked like an expansion team. In true sense, he could be the most valuable player to his team. Out of the previous players’ teams that I’ve mentioned the Hornets would probably take the sharpest fall without their star player. And even though his numbers are great they just don’t stack up to LeBron, Wade or Kobe. It’s a shame BUT it is what it is.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

I really wish I could debate this as to why I think he is, but I don't think it will fly.

Re: MVP Discussions
It will, but im not so sure I completely like that model.
I think McCoy's old thread why do we pretend the MVP isn't a team award (something like that) was spot on. Its just become so much more dense and bias controlled...but thats what you have when you dont have a clear cut definition of what a MVP is, because if thats the case MJ should've won at least 2 more than he did
If Wade can do that... he's MVP. Right now, LeBron is MVP to me.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

Brandon Roy at #4
Roy doesn't even make the All 2nd NBA team. Not even close.

Re: MVP Discussions
and in response to Dice... you're very right about Kobe being a longshot. It's unfortunate for him because I think he reigns with the best in this league... him and LeBron are the kings of the league, but the remaining schedule for Kobe sees no games against the Cavs, the Heat, or the Magic... so no chance to face other MVP candidates to prove he's better... and he's facing roughly 4 good teams in the last 15 games of the season... again, nothing that is going to better his chances at MVP.
However, if him and the Lakers can streak to 15 wins in a row, which is very possible when you look at their remaining games, Kobe can win MVP. A 68-14 record is no laughing matter.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment
