Especially in New York. I guess we'll have to see.
Yeah, you're probably right about the way the city feels, but if LeBron's brand is as important as everyone says and he's as arrogant and cocky as everyone says he is, then the New York tabloids putting him through the A-Rod treatment would be something I don't think Bron is willing or would be able to put up with it. When you've been pandered to and coddled all your life and been surrounded by Yes Men and people telling you how amazing you are, it's a really harsh reality check going into NYC as "The King" and "Chosen One."

That is 100% true. Noone is going to bow down to LeBron in NYC. It will be very interesting to see if he can take the stress. This is, however, a moot point if he goes somewhere else. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

$50m per year for 2 years. Plus he gets this:

This just tweeted from the Russian version of Ric Bucher.

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread

Why LeBron should stay in Cleveland:
-Loyalty...the fans love him, he's a hometown kid (from Akron)
-If he win's just one title for the city of Cleveland, his legacy is cemented.
-Byron Scott is a proven coach who has done a lot with very little, and arguably their team last year was good enough, but poor coaching in the finals did them in
            Why he should leave Cleveland:
-Although the team he had the last 2 seasons won 60+ games, it wasn't enough to get to the Finals, so there's no reason to think they could miraculously get better
-no flexibility, so they are pretty much stuck with their current roster

            Why Miami:
Join the super tandem and basically coast to the finals. In the end, talent trumps all.
            Why not Miami:
-Would no longer be THE man, just one of the guys
-numbers would diminish, as stats are a part of legacy as well, especially if you want to be in the conversation of GOAT
-anything less than multiple titles would be a failure...and if they fail to get one ring, forget about it.

            Why Chicago
-Strong nucleus of young talent who haven't hit their prime
-He could go there and still be the leader of the team.
            -big market city
            Why not Chicago:
-Expectations of living up to Jordan legacy
            -Chicago media can be dirty

            Why New York
            -Madison Square Garden
-Getting the Knicks a title would make him the king of basketball
-possibly could lure other players and make NY relevant again
            Why not NYC
            -Amare isn't enough...poor roster
            -D'Antoni doesn't stress defense
-NYC media is worse than Chicago's

            Why the Nets
            -Friends with Jay-Z
-Their owner apparently thinks he can make LeBron a bllionaire
-could be missing piece to a promising core (though not as talented as Chicago's)
            Why not the Nets
-They won 12 games last year
-Brooklyn Nets will never be as beloved as the Knicks...relevant Knicks>than relevant Nets

I think LeBron vs. Wade/Bosh is something the three of them want. They want to push each other to be better and see which can come up with the most championships by the end of their careers.

                That's my uneducated thought.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

So if the Bulls get Lebron, they have what?
                  Rose
                  Deng
                  James
                  Boozer
                  Noah

So they have Boozer and Noah which is a pretty good combo since one is good on offense but terrible on defense and the other is good on defense and below average on offence. Then you have Rose and Deng, neither of which can stretch the floor for Lebron. So basically you'd have teams sagging off of everybody, which would make absolute hell for Lebron trying to score the 30 or whatever points he would need to put up. The Bulls easily have the most overall talent of his choices, but they don't really compliment him all that well.

Cleveland and the Clippers are the two least talented, but they do compliment James very well.

Cleveland would have Mo and Jamison, who can stretch the floor, along with Varejao playing the role of Noah, and whoever they put in at the SG.

The Clippers would have Baron Davis, a guy that can handle and distribute and muscle other PGs and just take some pressure off of Lebron and provide some veteran leadership. Eric Gordon is close to becoming a very good scorer and in the very least, he can definitely stretch the floor for Lebron. Blake Griffin could potentially be a very nice Robin for Lebron's Batman, but of course the injuries are a concern. And then they have Chris Kaman who is easily a better all-around center than Varejao or Noah.

And then there's the Knicks. They'd have Amare, who can compliment James very well on the offensive end since he's recently developed a decent elbow jumper and is very athletic. They have Gallinari who can definitely stretch the floor, and maybe Wilson Chandler (correct me if he's a free agent, because I haven't really heard anything about him, but he's a pretty good player). T-Mac has already said he would resign for the vet minimum to play with Lebron, so he can take some of the burden off Lebron as well (obviously he isn't the #1 option that he used to be, but he's a pretty decent #3 or 4), and then they can plug someone in at PG or even throw out Toney Douglas, who would be fine considering he can hand the ball off to Lebron or T-Mac. And then you factor in the fact that the Knicks can go out and sign another big free agent the following year that would only make them a better team.

All in all, I think it's very hard to argue that Chicago would be a better choice from a basketball standpoint than any of the other destinations honestly.

Wherever LeBron goes, the fanbase is in for a treat.

Almost every night, this guy does things that are flat out amazing. Sportscenter can't catch them all as they usually only show the spectacular finishes and dunks. Sometimes he goes nuts with the handles, or pulls out 2K moves. Some nights he gets hot form deep and starts nailing 30 footers, lol. Once you get to know him and see him as one of your own, you start to understand and accept the playfulness, the goofiness. The dancing and shenanigans are alot less offensive when he's on your team..once you realize that its' not arrogance, but just him being exactly like that silly ADD addled dude in your own circle of friends that's always cracking jokes and cutting up.

It's alot of fun to grab a brew, kick back, and watch this kid on a nightly basis. Hopefully he'll win alot of games and get some hardware for you, but even if he doesn't you'll get to see some creative, fun, jaw-dropping basketball on most nights. Enjoy.

Windhurst on NBATV said LBJ's camp has said that the location should not be taken into consideration of his decision.

My feeling on all three of them teaming up is...huge reward, but huge risk. Wade and Bosh aren't exactly the most durable players, so losing one to injury would set them back. Also, there would be tremendous pressure for them to win a title yesterday. A failure to win not one, but multiple titles would be a failure of **** proportions. Also, this isn't the 1960s...teams are not gonna roll over for them. LeBron's team has been the favorite the past 2 seasons, and both times failed to reach the Finals. Then there's the notion that for every title they may win, Wade will have one more ring than LeBron. Rivalries are good for basketball, so hopefully LeBron thought about that when making his decision.

I still see CLE as the favorite, but wherever he goes, he brings a lot to the table.
