Probably not sour he got posterized but about the reaction it received. His job is to protect the paint, he does so instead of ducking out or missing a rotation, and he gets clowned on. Lose lose.

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Almost had a Throwdown in Chinatown last night between Mr. James and a fan:
The unsubstantiated rumor that simply will not die has reportedly prompted a profanity-laced verbal exchange between Miami Heat All-Star forward LeBron James and a fan of the Washington Wizards.
James and the Heat defeated the Wizards, 106-89, at the Verizon Center on Friday night. As James put together 18 points, 9 assists and 2 rebounds in the victory, a fan allegedly began making loud comments about a rumored 2010 relationship between James' mother and then-Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Delonte West.
Deadspin.com notes an NBCWashington.com report with details of the exchange.LeBron just got into a verbal altercation with a fan. Spoke to the fan. Wanted to give Heat PR time to comment on the LeBron fan altercation. I’ll update you if they end up doing so, but here’s the story.James' behavior runs the entire spectrum from "role model" to "insufferable," but the strong temptation here is to give him a pass. This isn't the first time James has reportedly been in this type of situation and it won't be the last. He surely feels like the reasonable, "If you disrespect my mother in public, any response is fair game" argument is in play here. Sure, he's a global brand and a "King," but he's a person, too. Defending the virtue of one's mother is an inalienable human right.
I saw a Wizards fan and LeBron in a heated conversation on the sideline during the game Friday night. I spoke to the fan and got his side.
Fan Bob Moore made a comment to LeBron about Delonte West and LeBron’s mom… [According] to Moore, LeBron said “The only reason you talk s*** is because you know I can’t come off the court right now and beat your a**.”
Also according to Moore, LeBron continued “But if I had a free pass, I’d kick your a** right now. Moore replied “I’m right here baby. Let’s go” before security stepped in.
Should James be held to a higher standard of conduct than that, given his level of fame and the scrutiny that follows him wherever he goes? Sure, in an ideal world he would ignore it, brush it off, or let security handle it. The heckler wins this one because he got James to engage with him, but James leaves the situation knowing that he stood up for his mother.
Even so, if you're the Heat, you respectfully request that James informs you first of future fan comments so that an exchange like this doesn't wind up caught on video and posted to YouTube, where it could do some serious damage to his image.#RespectTheCultureComment

I give LeBron a pass, though both are human beings, so I'd kinda give him a pass anyway. You can say, he shouldn't have responded, but when certain things hit home or close to the heart, emotions are gonna get the best of anyone sometimes.
On another note, I don't think dude was trying to see LeBron in a fight. 260 pounds of man versus some drunken fool, would be hilarious to see.

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Lot of idiots in the world. While that rumor was funny as all hell and something that would not shock me to find out was true, it's just plain disrespectful to go at him with that. It's one thing if you wanna joke about that with friends or something like that, but it's going too far going at him like that over that story. LeBron is right in what he said as well. Only reason dude even says something like that to him is he knows LeBron can't step off the court to knock his *** out and if he did, he can be the scumbag who sues after instigating a fight with someone successful.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
NBC Washington’s Sarah Kogod reported over the weekend that LeBron James told a heckling fan that he wanted to kick his tail all over the beltway, and if anyone has a problem with LeBron saying as much to that fan they can just take their heckles somewhere else.
In the fourth quarter of Miami’s win over Washington, James was reportedly accosted by Bob Moore, who made mention of that years-old urban legend regarding former James teammate Delonte West, and James’ mother Gloria. Something tells me that Moore did quite a bit more than “made mention,” actually. Here’s the story, from Kogod’s Twitter timeline:
LeBron was waiting alone in the backcourt when fan Bob Moore made a comment to LeBron about Delonte West and LeBron’s mom…According to Moore, LeBron said "The only reason you talk sh!t is because you know I can’t come off the court right now and beat your ***…Also according to Moore, LeBron continued "But if I had a free pass, I’d kick your *** right now…Moore replied “I’m right here baby. Let’s go” before security stepped in.
And? Kogod is well within her rights, as she pointed out on her Twitter feed the next day, to state that she believes that “it’s not acceptable for ANY athlete to engage a heckling fan in this way,” but I could not disagree more.
Is falling back on the tired “I’m going to whup your ***”-retort kind of disappointing? Sure. But Moore wasn’t yelling at a TV. He made the choice to engage with someone verbally — about the dude’s mom, no less — and he’s going to have to deal with the middling verbal consequences in response.
James, no pun intended, brings quite a bit of heat on himself. He’s made himself a target for years because of his curious choices off the court, and the addendum to the Delonte West rumor are the whispers that “helpers” inside of James’ camp actually started that nonsense in a moronic attempt to divert some criticism away from LeBron following his poor showing in the 2010 Eastern Conference semifinals.
Short of laying a hand on a heckler, though? It’s all fair game. I’d say this about Kobe Bryant, and I’d say this about Keith Bogans. Whether the heckler brings up a rumor, an actual conviction and/or failing, or just a lame observation with no merit lodged in reality (“YOU SUCK, BOSH!”).
You want to put on your tough guy pants and lob things at athletes just because you paid for a ticket? You’re going to have to hear back from them. LeBron, and no other athlete, is under any obligation to offer a meek “thank you for your comment and your continued patronage” as a reply.
He’s not managing a Denny’s. He’s dropping your favorite team’s record to 5-22.#RespectTheCultureComment
