Re: The LeBron James Thread
That's pretty much what you'll hear everytime. Nevermind the actual work that those guys put in all the time to be in the condition to play that game. Nevermind the life changing injuries, time on the road and away from loved ones and so on and the money they are directly responsible for generating it'll always come back to that ONE sentence for most people. No one will ever talk about people like Matt Lauer making 17 million dollars a year to sit behind a ****ing desk every morning and currently looking to get about 30 million for it. Or how about Katie Couric making 15 million a year? How about how much Tom Hanks makes per movie? Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise? Never a word about it and if there is, it's more like a whisper and sure as hell not the passion and hatred that are aimed at athletes.
There's another factor at work with it typically too but I won't go into it too far. All you need to know is when people are bitching about what athletes make, there's typically certain athletes that are the focus of that and other ones that this type of stuff is never said about. You figure it out.Last edited by King_B_Mack; 02-14-2012, 07:26 PM.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
The one thing you DON'T do is talk about a dude's mom. ESPECIALLY when he doesn't have his father in his life, that's basically the one person he had in his corner through everything.
I give LeBron a pass, though both are human beings, so I'd kinda give him a pass anyway. You can say, he shouldn't have responded, but when certain things hit home or close to the heart, emotions are gonna get the best of anyone sometimes.
On another note, I don't think dude was trying to see LeBron in a fight. 260 pounds of man versus some drunken fool, would be hilarious to see.
LeBron's Dad is M.I.A?
Hm, that explains a lot actually.
How could anyone not know why some people hate athletes or celebrities or politicians or other people? Do you understand why people hate "regular" people? Well, if so, then it shouldn't be a stretch to get why one person might hate an athlete or public figure. If someone doesn't like someone, the way they act, they way they come across, what they've done, who they are, yada yada, then they're free as hell to hate that person, public figure or not.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 02-15-2012, 06:19 AM.Comment

I don't see anything wrong with a little 'sports hate' though, it's a part of the game...It's when people start acting like a player came in their house and took a dump on the floor I personally SMH lolLast edited by The 24th Letter; 02-15-2012, 07:34 AM.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Cleveland needs to just let it go. He wanted to win, and the best Cleveland could do was Antawn Jamison. So he left. End of story. Well, actually, not really; one of his teammates may or may not have had "sexual relations" with LeBron's mom. And his contract expired.
And he humiliated you? How? Because you can't brag about having the best player in the league anymore? Because he's over in Miami ballin' and having fun while you watch Kyrie Irving and hope HE doesn't jump ship either?
Maybe players will want to stay when Cleveland actually dedicates themselves to winning. Cause most likely, Kyrie will be outta there too if Alonzo Gee is a key piece of the future.Comment

Now it's noted how I feel about the excess of hate on LBJ, but I can in no way blame Cleveland for feeling how they feel about the guy...Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
To act like the Cavaliers didn't "dedicate" themselves to winning is hilarious.
And yes. Humiliated. He went on National TV and turned his back to every single Cavs fan who supported him over the years by driving the dagger into their heart. But I wouldn't expect you to understand that and you should probably just shut the hell up about things you CLEARLY do not know anything about.
And Kyrie is a good dude, he won't do us like that. If we don't support him he can leave and I'll have no hard feelings. It was never about leaving, it's how he left.
Whatever, I cannot believe i have to explain this to anyone. You are clearly a LeBron fan who has an agenda here.Too Old To Game Club

Re: The LeBron James Thread
athletes has a whole are held to an unrealistic standard.. an by that i mean people act as though 20 something year old guys with obscene amounts of money whove been pampered through high school & college (if they went) are supposed to act like "mature" 45 year old adults.. but that 45 year old adult is allowed to say whatever the hell he wants without fear because he paid $100 for a ticket? thats one reason vernon maxwell, charles barkley and the man formerly known as ron artest are my personal athletic heroes lol...Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
lmao thats definitely true but does that mean that he should receive death threats? that hundreds, literally hundreds of people in cleveland (and other cities) should take to the streets to burn his jersey? the reaction he got from that still makes me wonder if sports in this country is taken just a wee bit too seriously... cause at the end of the day he gave that franchise and city 8 superb years but ultimately he left for less money and a better shot at winning.. which in a "regular" persons life is the same as leaving for a better paying job with more benefits, the only difference i can see is that he got to announce it on televisionComment
