    Re: The LeBron James Thread

IMO it has to be the Boston game last year.

That wasn't just the pressure of a regular playoff game. That was basically the pressure of LeBron defining his entire career up to that point, plus his team was on the brink of elimination AND it was on the road in Boston.

For him to go in there and just completely assassinate the Celtics the way he did, with a demeanor we've never seen him display before, it was unreal to watch. He literally silenced that entire Boston crowd and all of the **** talkers singlehandedly with that performance.

      Re: The LeBron James Thread

I think they should be looked at separately. The Pistons series he was literally too young and dumb to grasp the magnitude. His supporting cast wasn't going to do crap and the team wasn't expected to even be where they were. He literally had nothing to lose from going HAM and seeing what would happen... the perfect storm of events to force him to show case his raw talent.

The Boston series, the weight of the world was on his shoulders. He knew fully well what the potential cost of every missed shot, or even shot he didn't take would mean. He showed that he's a much more "skilled" player and used that combined with talent to rise to the occasion.

The Boston game is more impressive because of the level he needed to reach to MEET expectations... and he did it.

The Piston game is more impressive because it was unthinkable that he could reach a level to single handedly carry a team at that point of the season and he did.

Besides, don't we already have one of those buried in the forums somewhere? I feel like I remember an argument over the hype level of Jordan's layup vs the Lakers.

Can I ask everyone a question? Why do people keep thinking force LeBron left is a good thing? Don't people know he is left handed?

Can't dunk everything. And plus lay-ups give you more range when finishing. Great example would be...

No it's the play Wade scores that layup vs Roy.

Because media folk don't understand Jordan's break down when he was explaining how he would guard Lebron. Bottom line is Lebron has a way of scoring on you no matter what you do. So you try to play a chess game, force him to do what you want him to do, force him to his weakEST elements, etc. Jordan watched his game and described his tendencies and then talked about what he would do to disrupt what he generally wants to do with the ball. In that he said, usually if he goes left it was to pull up for a jumper. Honestly, most right handed shooters should do this bc it's easier to place the ball in your right hand in proper position to go up for the shot, AND allows you to naturally step into a shot. Since you want James shooting jumpers rather than driving, the lesser of two evils would be to make him go left out of triple threat.

It's actually pretty annoying how much of a big deal they're making out of it since he just finished the last game with a left handed layup. As you said, his right is his dominant "sport" hand but he writes left handed. He finishes left probably more than he does right when shooting layups. I doubt Jordan cares but they need to leave it alone.

how damaging would a heat bounce against the great roy hibbert (career average 11.2) hurt the lebron legacy?
