Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread

It's interesting. In Chicago, he could team up with Rose, Lee, Deng and Noah and be on a very, very good team. Not a lot of outright scorers, and Lee hurts you defensively, but you do have Thibbs and an excellent, excellent rebounding core. Still need shooting.

in New York, you have what I believe to be the best complimentary player for Lebron in Amar'e, plus cap space in the upcoming year and the best crop of shooters to surround him with(about 40% for Douglas and Gallo from 3). Excellent home attendance and an owner willing to go over the luxury tax.

In Cleveland, you have a team that can get you home court advantage throughout most of the playoffs, but a roster that doesn't give you a single 2nd option as good as any of the other teams.

In Miami, you have the super team. Riley is a proven team builder, so I don't think it's a great leap of faith to think he can get it together. Only thing is Miami is Wade's town, so Lebron's legacy does take a hit. Usually guys don't opt out of 60+ win teams to join another MVP candidate's team. Lebron would be in real danger of winning a championship and not being Finals MVP. Also, if the Heat don't win, those three guys would get KILLED. And I do think it's possible for that team to lose.

New Jersey I think provides the most overall potential. Tradeable pieces, cap space, ownership that will spend and lowered expectations after a 12 win scenario, plus the best center out of all of the other options. 2nd best point guard, possible forward of the future in Favors and Williams is showing signs. If the Nets get it right, they could get it right for a whole decade of being a contender.

        Hmm...

I hope he stays in Cleveland, but I think Jersey would be the absolute best option for him with New York second.

I'm thinking he should stay far away from that situation in Miami. If they didn't win a title he would be shredded with "can't win when it counts" talk, and even if they did win it people would say he had to have Wade.

With the ego LBJ's got and for the sake of his legacy I don't see him going to Miami. Personally I wouldn't blame him for not going there.

Wade + Bosh + Lebron = TOO MANY YOUNG EGOS.

The Boston run is only because the guys are in their twilight years and egos have to be put aside because you aren't the most talented players in the league anymore. I don't see why anyone ever thought the 3 of these guys could play together anyway. It would be doomed from the start.

I really think it comes down to where this special is being held. If they tell us it will obviously give it away. This has to be the reason its being kept such a closely guarded secret.

When I'm out today I will be watching for ESPN trucks lol.

The decision is what it is being marketed as by ESPN. And you're mad at LeBron for being selfish? Do you have a problem with Bosh shooting down the best places because his standards were ridiculously high? Or maybe for filming the entire free agency process? Give me a break.

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread

You know, regardless of what I personally think about such behavior, Lebron is really only guilty of self-awareness and media savvy. Like someone said before, it wouldn't matter if people didn't care.

The reality of it is that Lebron couldn't win as soon as he made the decision to test free agency. Now if he stays in Cleveland, it's for the money. If he goes to NY/NJ it's ego, and anywhere else is disloyalty. The only way he's not the villain is if he never bothered with testing the market and just stayed in Cleveland from the jump. At least in terms of perception, that is.

I've gotta be honest, I may not go as far as holding an "announcement special," but if people were whoring themselves out for me like these teams and cities are, it would be hard not to milk it for at least a little bit...lol.

I'm rooting for Cleveland though...mass suicide doesn't benefit anyone.

We've done it because we love the NBA. Thursday Night 9pm ESPN will have the MOST watch program in their history. Easy 20 million viewers. Most of us here will be a part of that. Yeah LBJ has had this planned for 2 years now, ish I ain't mad @ him. You do what you gotta to put bread on the table & if this is gonna help him do that & put the NBA on the forefront also. More power to him
Isn't putting bread on the tabling helping him part of being selfish.

I admit it's the league and owners fault just as much as James.

It's become a three ring circus.

If I was Lebron, I would sign some type of a deal to be the spokesperson for a cereal/ something with a catchy phrase. Then at my announcement I would put 6 hats on the table ( the NBA teams) and make a big speech ending with " I have made my decision and let's just say I'm coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs". Then take out a box of cereal, a bowl, a spoon and some milk; eat the bowl of cereal live on television and when I finish walk off the stage. But then make the decision the next day in private and make ESPN look incredibly stupid for this entire process.

I understand and I also understand why folks are in King James corner for the most part.

                                I just see it differently.

At least one sports writer sees it the same way as I do.
