Which is completely understandable from the perspective of a Lakers fan. Also, Pau isn't a superstar and the Lakers convinced somebody to make a really lopsided trade. There are only about 5 to 10 guys in the league who are superstars and even more there are only about 5 at the most in discussion for best player in the world. When two of those guys join forces and play together it destroys part of what the game was built on. Which was the elite players in the league competing against other elites to see which was better given that they had comparable teams. Not the elite players joining forces to play the non-elites /the elites without good teams and never finding out who is better.

Edit: I believe Bill Russell said something to the effect of this: Winning only matters to me if I beat the best.

Lebron James is not going to Miami. Sorry heat fans. Be happy with what you got. Funny story though. Don't get your hopes up. Lebron James does not belong on the same team as D wade. That is ridiculous.

i've been a Heat fan for a long time. Whilst it'd be great to have LeBron, I'd personally like to see him go to NY and ignite the Heat/Knicks rivalry from the late 90's with Wade v LeBron leading the way.

When you have three guys planning this as saying we'll take cuts to build this team it just doesn't sound right. As I said, I want Wade VS LBJ. LBJ VS Kobe and so forth. There isn't enough competition in the league as there used to be. There are more teams, less talent, and so forth. Now these three want to take a pay cut and do their thing? Fine. Wake me up when it's 2016.

Relax hehe, Karma has a way of getting back at people.

Maybe they will have a target on their chest every night they take the floor, more so than even the NBA Champion Lakers. It might be a big F U from other NBA players who want to show people that even with 3 of the top players in their prime they still aren't going to just put it in cruise control and win it all.

I'm not necessarily angry for him leaving Cleveland or going to Miami (leaving that in and of itself) or whatever; he's a free agent and I've got no dog in the fight. Rather I'm disgusted with the apparent greed of James, who appears to be doing everything he can to maximize his image and money-making potential when he's already a millionaire several hundred times over.

It just seems like money and not basketball is driving his decision process entirely, when money already isn't an object for him. I just don't get it.

I did like Glen Rice a lot back in his Heat days.
Ugh I became a Knicks fan when they where playing Tim Hardaway and Alonzo Mourning. I hate that team so much.

I completely disagree, there is alot of young hungry talent in the league. Look at OKC and how they battled with the now 2 time champs in round one. Portland is nasty even with Oden's injuries. You still have the Magic who will always be contenders as long as Dwight is there. Boston, Hawks, Spurs,Mavs, even under achieving teams like Memphis and the Clippers. There is a bunch of talent out there. I own the league pass, me and my son watch as many games as we possibly can, and we are having a hard time deciding which team we want to follow becuase of how much talent is out there. I'm 33 years old, I remember watching Dominique and MJ go at it. The Showtime Lakers, Ralph Sampson and Hakeem during his rookie year. i go back in my fandom for the NBA, this isn't bad at all for the league. This will bring in so many fringe fans.

BTW, I have no idea where he goes and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he only signs a 3 year deal wherever he signs. The guy just wants to win, bottomline.

That doesn't make sense if he is taking less money to have a legit shot at rings. Also all of the proceeds fromt he event go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, he isn't pocketing anything from the announcement.

God, I used to think Stepania was going to be great. No friggin idea why but I did.

Of course this was during the Brian Grant years when i absolutely loathed him and probably talked myself into thinking Stepania and Malik Allen were better players at that point.

I hated those games so much. They set the game of basketball back to the pre-shot clock era. Great rivalry and way more intense than anything you'll see now but man they were ugly games.

Man Chris gatling with that ugly headband, if he stayed away from the cheeseburgers he might have been an even better scorer. He never ever played defense though. lol

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I have league pass as well and I just don't see it. I see a lot of bad games. Even Charles Barkley mentioned the same exact thing. This coming from a guy that played in the 80's and 90's.

Not trying to change your opinion, I just see it differently and that is why I don't want this to happen.

If all LBJ wants to do is win, why couldn't he just sign or resign like Durant. Durant is or will be soon in the same tier as LBJ but yet he quietly signed his extension today and went about his business. Respect. This guy needs a 1 hour ESPN show to do it? I love his game, but his nonsense is getting old.
