Awesome. If this happens, and it looks like it is, I can't wait to see Cleveland's reaction. I don't think I've ever seen a bigger, more vicious betrayal of a team in my life. Starting with "The Forfeit" and the subsequent tossing of the jersey, this will have been the most evil thing ever. New York is a big city with a pretty great sports history, and I still think New Yorkers would react very poorly to being embarrassed and betrayed this way. Can't imagine a place like Cleveland, being a smaller city with a.....checkered...sports history. Lebron may do the unthinkable and be the most hated figure in a certain Finals matchup.

I hope Wilbon asks him some tough questions (like "How do you feel stabbing your hometown in the back?" and "Why did you mail it in Game 5 of the Celtics series?", but I'm guessing it will be just a bunch of softballs.
Though based on having seen LeBron take batting practice with the Indians, he's probably not very good at hitting softballs.Comment

Look at that roster minus LeBron and compare it to any other competing team's roster minus their best player. The Cavs did suck. Mo, Parker, _______, Jamison, Shaq. That doesn't impress me.
The Cavs had the best record only because of LeBron, the same guy who played with the worst supporting cast in the Finals that I can remember.Originally posted by My Wife"The Celtics only won because they have a magical elf playing for their team...."Comment

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
I don't care how stale it is, his team does suck. Without LeBron, who is more important to the overall well being of his team and franchise than any other player in the league, the Cavs will be hard pressed to win 30 games. The Lakers, minus Kobe, could still be a playoff team. The Magic, minus Dwight Howard, could still be a playoff team. Boston, minus KG, could still be a playoff team. The Cavs without LeBron are headed to the lottery.
Furthermore, LeBron's "decision" sounds all to familiar to an ancient poetic tale. The Iliad, the story of Achilles and his pursuit of glory. If LeBron stays in Cleveland, much like the hypothetical posed to Achilles on whether or not to remain in Larissa, he will be loved by his fans. His image will remain in tact, and he'll forever be beloved in the city that gave birth to his career. But he'll never win, and he'll eventually be forgotten. However if he goes to New York, Chicago, or Miami; Again, similar to the hypothetical posed to Achilles on whether or not to go to Troy, his image may take a hit, but he'll achieve glory, and in the same breath, immortality.
I think the choice is obvious.Comment

I find it a little weird that Wilbon was hand selected to interview LeBron after his decision...I mean after all he is a proclaimed Bulls fan.Comment

LeBron had an injury through out the playoffs. So we dont know the affects that had on him.
But what does his "alleged" quiting have to do with his teams giving him nothing in the playoffs year after year? You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
This is what I don't get. People are acting like losing to the C's was an inevitability brought on by his teammates. Why? Lebron quitting was one of the most obvious, puzzling moments in playoff history. Lebron all but sabotaged his team against Boston. How is that all of a sudden not relevant?
You can't believe there would be the same outcome if he played his normal game.
Shaq was brought in to be that big presence in the middle they didn't have against Howard. The same Shaq some are saying would be a great presence for the Heat if LBJ goes there now. This is also the same Shaq who was arguably the best player on the court toward the end of the playoffs.
The year the Celtics won the championship Gasol was called soft and if the Lakers lost this year, Odom would've had that title... Artest would've been called washed up. Instead Fisher is getting praised while Mo is getting criticized, and for some reason Ray Allen is being called a HOFer. Bottom line is if the Cavs won a championship then Jamison would be getting the same praise Gasol is now getting and Mo would be talked about like Rondo. They lost and LBJ is great so therefore they all suck. Makes no sense.
Lets be real, the last 2 years the Cavs have lost to the two teams that have represented their conference in the finals. They didn't get bounced by 8 seeds that squeaked into the playoffs. Being good enough to win a championship and actually doing it are two different things when there are other teams that are pretty damn good too. Did the Celtics suck last year bc they didn't make it back to the championship? Did the Magic suck this year bc they didn't? Is it a video game mentality that you just throw a bunch of players together and a championship is inevitable?Comment
