My take on the subject:


LeBron will go down as ONE OF THE all-time greats, even if he does play alongside a couple all-stars. By the way, it's not like he is the first to ever do that. 80's Celtics= Bird, Michale, Parrish. 80's Lakers= Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Perkins. Lakers from way back when= West, Baylor, Chamberlein. Not to mention, Chamberlin came from Philadelphia, his all-time rep was not ruined. Kareem came from Milwaukee but people don't talk about him playing alongside HIS all-star crew, because regardless, over time people will forget the details and only see highlights of them playing.


The only thing LeBron owed Cleveland was maybe doing a press conference instead of going on national television. However, if most people in the WORLD wanted to see it when he made his decision, then it was the right way to go. It was a matter of luck that Cleveland got the number 1 pick in 2003 and though it's sad to see someone leave their home state, it is admirable to see someone go after their dreams when presented with a great oppurtunity.

As for Gilbert, though I do not agree with his comments, I understand he was mad and needed to vent, but probably should have gone about it in a different way.

Either way, LeBron will be known for being a great player, (possibly a champion), an olympic gold medalist, and a great person. I know people in Cleveland probably won't see him as a good person but when you listen to him speak, you can see that he is. When he saw people burning his jersey the man looked like he was about to break down. He gave the city all he had and it's sad to see it go down like this.

Ya, but all those guys, are just support players, they were never the legend. Bird, and Jordan, etc.... stayed and won championships. Sure, good players landed in there laps, but they werent the piggy backers. Lebrons a piggy backer dude. and hes only 25 years old.

Do you make one red cent legally from the Bulls or Bears? The answer is no, so you root for them because of choice, family tradition, etc. Right? Don't you have the right to as a fan to decide who you want to root for, or do you only have to root for the teams that are in your home town?

The franchise went from being worth around $200 million to nearly $450 million. He made basketball relevant, sold product, and put butts in seats for Cleveland. Tourism, hotels, fan shops, restaurants, all benefited from him simply being there.

Does any of that matter with the true essence of basketball? Im not talking about money, I could care less. Cleveland FANS arent getting the money, we wanted results. You looking at Cavs owner/buisinesses perspectives, not the fans.

Besides, if we traded him for 2 good players, they would have also brought all those things, and who knows, they might have won a championship
Besides, were in a lot of hurting in Cleveland now. Buisinesses built around him since he was the man in Cleveland. They should have taken there chances elsewhere. They needed a champion, and got a piggy backer. What you claim he brought us, he also hit us over the head with.

No you don't, but it also shows what kind of hometown pride/loyalty that you have if you openly admit to jumping on the Heat bandwagon. So you personally wouldn't understand what this situation would feel like. Which is why I can't take a comment on loyalty seriously from someone who doesn't even know what that is.
