Isn't chemistry one of the most important factors in a championship caliber team. Or have I been wrong for the past 20 years? Secondly the talent difference between who is too great??

Doesn't Gibson play the 4? How is he going to get minutes?
He is going to continue to play the 4, like he did last year.

However, a 41 win team doesn't add Carlos Boozer, Ronnie Brewer, and Kyle Korver and become champions. They become the Jazz.
However they would of won more if they didn't have their 3 best players hurt at the end of the season, this team could of won 45-50 games last year without those players. Not to mention they did this with only one real scorer after dumping Salmons. Now you add Boozer, Brewer, Korver, Watson along with Rose, Noah, Deng and Gibson. Depending on how Asik evolves and who else they add, their depth could go unmatched. This team already played solid defense and was the top rebounding team in the league, and got better in both areas. Aren't those 2 pretty big keys in winning playoff basketball games?

Not saying they are going to win a ship next year, but every chance you get you try to act like this team is just an average basketball team. This team could easily be a 3-4 seed and do some serious damage in the playoffs.

Perhaps someone can help me out on this, but that little swipe at Rose (please correct me if it's not a swipe) seems to imply that not fawning over Lebron and begging him to come to your team, is the same as saying something LIKE "I'm the man here, I don't need no help, I don't want anyone stealing my spotlight"?

Rose has repeatedly said that he stays out of FO talks precisely because he's too young and shouldn't have any say in who they bring in. I've no doubt that Rose probably likes the idea of being the man (or is at least up to the challenge) but if the FO had asked him to do it (reports say that they didn't) I don't think he'd have a problem reaching out. It appears that he did a little bit anyway.

I'm just trying to figure out how Rose texting Lebron a little bit, but not a ton, can somehow be used to paint him as maybe being a little bit selfish. Lebron didn't have any responsibility in this situation?

Being the stat highlight superstar has its appeal for young players. It did for Kobe, Lebron, Jordan, etc. However, once you reach your mid to late 20s, you realize that you need help to win. Kobe begged for any player he could, Lebron left, and Jordan stopped scoring as much.

Rose doesn't need to win now. He can put up numbers and be the undisputed man. However, when he's ringless signing his third contract, I think he may be a bit more inclined to reach out to other players.
I don't want to use the "you must not watch a lot of [insert teams' name here] games," line, but I think you might have the wrong idea about Rose. Ringless in his third year? Soothsaying much? Moves can still be made.

But more importantly, Rose had Ben "Jordan" Gordon on his team in year 1 flinging up shots left right and center. He came into the league as a player who was more prone to lay it off that throw it up and it wasn't until he was the ONLY option that he decided that he HAD to score if we were to have any success.

By the way, Lebron doesn't appear to be the ONLY way that a team can win. If Wade or Bosh (and really, I don't mind Boozer over Bosh) had a real chance of coming here to the Chi, and even if they didn't, I think that there are a number of other options that can give a team a legitimate shot for a title. Rose not dropping to his knees for Lebron isn't his way of saying, "well...I don't need to win now...because Lebron was the only way we were going to do that..."

After all, Cleveland had Lebron...and we see how well that worked out.

A lot of what you said in here could definitely be construed as having a little bit of bias in it. Ringless in his third year? Bulls can still make moves.

I mean could you see this Bulls team (even with all the great moves they have made) Winning a championship with the likes of Orlando, Celtics, Lakers, and Denver out there? From the bottom of your heart. Do you think this Bulls team can win it all?

I could see them winning the whole thing if Tom Thibs comes in and becomes the next Larry Brown from the Pistons.

To me Rose is really young at this point. Its his second year in the league. They have made the playoffs in the 2 years he been there. Bounced in the first round both times. I mean lets look 3-5 years from now. And see what he will be saying.

Like I said 2 totally different situations here. I still do respect what Rose said. I just think some of us are not looking at the whole picture.

What's exactly is the whole picture?

And what are these 2 different situations? Lebron isn't an old man at 25, but he made his choice. Whatever.

By the way, you're not saying that Lebron, at 25, realized that his window of opportunity (like Malone and Payton's) is just about closed and realized that he needed to link up with another megastar, are you?

Anyway, Rose didn't even really say ANYTHING. I'm just trying to figure out how Rose NOT saying a ton about how much he wanted Bron here=young player, wants the spotlight, might be a little selfish, doesn't care about winning now. I don't think he said enough to take that much away from it and everything that he's done to this point says the exact opposite about his personality.

People can feel how they want about Rose and obviously someone might point to me being from the Chi as me being a bit of a homer, but if someone tries to paint a guy who is clearly unselfish as being selfish, yeah, I'll let him know what's up.

As nuckles said, the Bulls were going to get SOMEONE. As it looks like Bosh/Wade/Lebron were going to Miami together from the very start, unfortunately nothing was gonna change that. So he puts himself out there, does a little dance for Lebron, and he bolts anyway? Nobody has to BEG another guy to come play with them, and not doing that says nothing about their will to win, or character (EDIT: Actually it might reveal a lot about their character; but not in a negative way). But like nuckles already said, the Bulls were gonna get someone and it looks like NOBODY but the Heat were going to get Lebron or Bosh. There were other FAs out there though and Rose himself said that he stays out of it and let's the FO do their thing because he doesn't, and shouldn't, have the clout to make any sort of personnel demands.

We got who the FO thought was the best available from what was left. Rose didn't have a say in it. And Lebron on this team would've been great for our playoffs prospects, but now it sounds like we're getting into "if the Knicks don't get Lebron, they're doomed" territory. It's not the end of the world and I'm glad that Rose didn't see it as "Oh my god, if we don't get Lebron what are we gonna DOOOOOOO!?"

We probably won't win a championship next year. So what? By the way, that was not at ALL the point of what I was saying and it wasn't what I was implying so I don't know why you said that. Moves can still be made, and we'll see how much better Rose can get. If the Heat are really supposed to be this unstoppable force, it doesn't look like our moves will matter anyway huh? The entire NBA had better just go home. There are ways to a title that don't involve Lebron.

And what if we just see lower contract totals and salary caps in the new CBA to give the owners a little more control over their spending habits (which shouldn't be the case, but whatever). Couldn't Miami be in some serious trouble going forward if they're not able to get it done with their trio like right now?
I don't think it matters much. I mean honestly, what'd the cap situation look like this year BEFORE the decision? What about AFTER the decision? If we take a look at Riley's teams over the years, I think we can safely say he'll put together a solid team... especially with those 3 in place.

Keep in mind we're talking about some SERIOUS role players here... specialists. Some guys that will take less for a shot at a ring or to build their resume (their stats will be inflated playing on the Heat) and other guys that would be much more valuable on this team than anywhere else so will be cheap (think Hodges, Kerr, Bowen, Perkins). Mike Miller's also locked up so that's 4 right there. The team will shape up. I really don't want them to win but realistically, it won't be hard getting the team to a championship level.

Hey, maybe we could call up ESPN 2 and get them to air an hour long show about LeBron registering on OS. It could be called "The Registration".

Now that Chris Paul wants to be traded....I'm done with this subject....lol
