He's trying to be more "likable" by making fun of that fact that he's nothing more than a LOSER. This commercial speaks more about his competitive nature, or lack thereof, than it does about his modesty.

Do you think Jordan would have made a similar commercial back in the day when the Bad Boy Pistons were kicking his teeth down his throat in the playoffs? Or what about Larry Bird when he lost the last 2 Finals matchups against Magic and the Lakers? Or what about Kobe after the Mavs swept the Lakers last season?

There's a reason why LeBron will NEVER reach those guys' level. This is just another example of that.

According to Isiah Thomas, people don't like Lebron...because he's successful:

“It kind of comes with the territory when you’re really good,” Thomas said. “Nobody cares about the loser. Everybody likes the loser.
“Some people are not going to like you because you are successful and I think LeBron has been extremely successful since high school and Wade has been successful and I think those guys will continue to be successful. And with their success, there are going to be some people who are upset with that.”

Kind of agree with it to an extent. Who honestly hates on Ryan Gones or Sebastian Telfair? Or let's put this in real life perspective, do you hate the guy who's living from paycheck to paycheck or the Wall Street fatcat who seemingly has everything go his way, this holds merit. Why did people hate J.J. Reddick so much when he was at Duke? It wasn't because he was some bum. Why do people hate Tom Brady so much, it's not like he's a backup quarterback. Why do people hate the Yankees so much, it's not like they're on the same level as the Baltimore Orioles.

What I'm getting at is you can't deny his logic. No one hates on people for failure it's not like NBA fans are going "Damn I really hate B.J. Mullens for being so bad" people don't feel threatened until someone does good/great. Why hate Justin Bieber, not like we know the guy personally and he's a douchebag.

I think Cristiano Ronaldo said it best when he said that he didn't get treated equally by refs because he's "good looking, rich, and great at soccer" sounds narcissistic (because it is) but when you think about it despite how ludicrous and close-minded what he said might be, in some crazy twisted way he's right.

What about Paul Pierce? Ray Allen? Chauncey Billups?

I can keep going and going but saying that Lebron being successful is THE reason why people hate Lebron.....well that's why you have idiots and then there's Isiah Thomas.
