If the Lakers thing is true it’s simply a lifestyle move for him. Which is fine. But he and Paul George or whoever aren’t beating Golden State with Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma man

If they have the cap space to sign 2 max FAs, would it even be possible to acquire a 3rd via trade?

I would hate to see the Lakers build what they had this past seasons. And take on LeBron James for what? A year or two? Brandon has been coming on. You got Kuz basically the fourth-fifth best rookie in the class. Is Lopez even on this team? And let's not mention Ball doesn't exactly match up with LeBron playing style. And everyone has heard my cries for Randle.

LeBron looks dope in gold, not gonna lie.

LeBron James is set to be a free agent, and his decision on where to play next season could shake up the NBA once again. So where will the King find his throne? We look at the most likely options.

Question for anyone who wants to bite. Does anyone actually think LeBron would leave the East? Just a question.

                      Re: The LeBron James Thread

I think he would consider leaving the East, not for many teams but if SAS is on his radar and if he really is wanting to move to LA for his kid to go to the same school as Pippen's kid and Kenyon Martin's kid and get that high level exposure for him, then I think both of those options are the two he would consider. I don't see a reason for him to half to stay in the East. Apparently losing before the finals is better than losing during them to the majority of the world anyways lmao. (kidding)

Realistically he's accomplished everything you can accomplish in basketball. He has rings, MVPs, gold medals, he's been the best player in the sport for longer than anyone in the history of the sport outside of Kareem, and MJ sans his baseball vacation, his stats, advanced numbers, playoff performances are really only comparable by MJ, so I'm not really sure what else he feels he has left to prove. I think he could actually go to the Lakers if it's a move that benefits his family. Although I don't really want to see him go there, and his competing for rings every year could come to an end if he makes that move.

I honestly feel as if just listening to the way he answers reporters, and telling them things like I don't worry about my legacy anymore that's stuff for you guys to talk about, I think he knows the history of the game. I think he knows at this point he's surpassed his expectations coming into the league and put himself in a position where he's reached the pinnacle of of basketball. Half the population calls him the GOAT, he knows the half that doesn't never will, and I really don't think he's set out to answer to the outside noise anymore. I don't think he ignores it like he says, but I don't feel like thinks he's dependent on it anymore either. He's planted himself on that "mount rushmore" and retiring with 3 rings or 10 isn't going to change anything but how many bare fingers he has.

But that's just my not so expert take on it.

Having said all that, I would put it at about 75% he stays with the Cavs. I guess time will tell.

I'm not a cap wiz, but Brook is coming off the books and I think he has a Kevin Love like contract, 20+ something mil, and Caldwell-Pope got that one year JJ Redick deal where he's making like 18 mil. I'm assuming if LeBron were to actually go there IT would be out lol, he's in that 7-8 range I think. That's a lot of money going out. If they could find someone to take back Deng's contract for future picks or IT or something that's another 17-18 or whatever he's at.

I always get a bit confused on how the bird rights works on when you have to sign them or how etc. But if they did a sign and trade for PG they would have his bird rights, they also have Randle's and could go over to keep him. I'm not sure what all space that clears up, but even if they failed at adding a 3rd piece they should have a decent chance of getting the two of them and keeping Randle. Who in a hypothetical match-up gives them a good small ball 5 to compete with what GS has.

In all reality though they don't necessarily need 3-4 max guys. They need the right guys. Houston's roster with LeBron in place of Harden for example likely knocks them out this year. So rather than being able to add another max, I think it would be more so which guys would be willing to come on the cheap. If that makes sense?

JJ Redick just got the biggest pay day he'll ever see. He got paid nearly his career earning in just one year with Philly lol. Is he the type that would now take a cut to give them the shooter they need? Would a guy like Avery Bradley do that? Wayne Ellington? Ed Davis as a backup center? Ilyasova, Wilson Chandler, Thad Young, Nerlens Noel, Danny Green. Those guys.

Those are the type of guys I think that would ultimately help them stack up better than just trying to fit another max and filling the bench with scrubs and depleting the depth. And if any of Kuzman, Randle, Lonzo, Ingram (who's like only 43% trash now) take a leap forward with their game they'll have youth and length to balance out the vets.

Him breaking his hand was his fault and he let his team and Cleveland fans down. He owes it to them to stay there. Just stay in Cleveland James.

That was actually a cool thing they did on that site. Scroll through it and see the jersey change on Lebron. Especially the first one where you see it change from Cavs to Warriors jersey.
