FYI, the 2010 Heat haven't played a game either
Neither have the Lakers or Celtics. It's still obvious that they're going to be good teams.

and also the 03 Spurs had a nice squad out there as well.
No they didn't. Take Duncan off that team and they're a 30 win team at best.

Look at what happened with Pierce, or Kobe(Gasol wasn't a HOFer til he joined the lakers).

Besides the legacy thing is to a degree moot. we still remeber the ewings and the stocktons, and they never won a championship. Great players will be remembered for being great.
This is a new era. This generation is impatient, and the players will be impatient. Gasol didn't wait, he just left so you prove your own point wrong a bit. KG had to leave, Ray allen had to leave, so they are all still going to be HOFs. In this day and age, loyalty is not desired as much.

        I don't remember Gasol demanding a trade.

I know people are on the revisionist tip with Gasol but at the time he was a #2 or #3 in the middle of a max contract on back to back 20ish win teams.

Nobody thought of Gasol as one of the best PFs and "the best offensive big man" in 2008. Nobody believed he was worth his contract back then.

Allen and KG were the same way. Allen and Shard were let go for rebuilding purposes and KG was actually traded for a very nice (at the time) package.

There's a huge difference between trading max contract players in their 30s on lottery teams and being forced to trade an expiring 26 year old on a 50 win team.

Anthony prefers move to Bulls, Knicks
                  Marc J. Spears

By Marc J. Spears, Yahoo! Sports 11 hours, 23 minutes ago

Carmelo Anthony(notes) still hopes to persuade the Denver Nuggets to trade him, preferably to either the Chicago Bulls or New York Knicks, an NBA source with knowledge of Anthony’s wishes told Yahoo! Sports.

The Knicks have limited assets to offer the Nuggets, which makes the Bulls a more appealing potential trade partner. The Bulls can offer a replacement small forward in Luol Deng(notes), as well as two young forwards in James Johnson(notes) and Taj Gibson(notes). New York officials would like to make a run at signing Anthony next summer if he were to opt to become a free agent. The Knicks will have salary-cap room with Eddy Curry’s(notes) contract expiring after the season.

While Anthony would prefer a trade to either the Bulls or Knicks, he knows the Nuggets could decide to send him elsewhere. Yahoo! Sports has previously reported that the Los Angeles Clippers, New Jersey Nets and Houston Rockets have expressed interest in Anthony.

The Nuggets have offered Anthony a three-year, $65 million contract extension, but Anthony is reluctant to sign the deal because of concerns about the franchise’s future. Coach George Karl is returning from his second battle with cancer and entering the final year of his contract. Forward Kenyon Martin(notes) and guards J.R. Smith(notes) and Arron Afflalo(notes) will be free agents after this season and center Nene could join them if he opts out of the final year of his contract. Point guard Chauncey Billups(notes) also could hit the market because the Nuggets are obligated to pay only $3.7 million of his $14.2 million salary for 2011-12 if he’s waived at the end of the season.

With so much uncertainty surrounding the Nuggets, Anthony would like to be traded before the season starts. New Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri has not had a face-to-face meeting with Anthony since he was hired on Aug. 31.

If I were Melo....I probably would just play out this last season. So that I could choose where I wanted to go. Not end up on a team that is rebuilding.

The Bulls would be a nice fit. But they don't allow their players to wear headbands. So they are probably out of the races. Its the same reason LeBron didn't go to the Bulls........LMFAO..Just Kidding guys. But I wouldn't be surprised if didn' go because of that. lol

Every trade rumor is a lazy rumor. I believe it is against league rules to publicly state specifics in a trade until it's been approved by the league offices. So of course, your not going to hear Melo nor the Nuggets say anything until it's official. This is the excitement about trade rumors. Nothing from the official parties, just third party sources.

Melo to the bulls. Sounds good to me. Denver's in a bad spot because they risk him just walking at the end of the year. Better to get something for him now.

That isn't an issue for Carmelo, he has all the power.

                              He controls where he goes.

No team will trade for him without Melo doing a sign and trade.

If he does get traded [which would be beyond idiotic] to a crappy team, he can simply leave after the season is over and sign with the team of his choice.

Denver is not in a good position right now.
