He played without one for a while... and he'll throw it off sometimes during games and never put it back on. It always weirds me out though, doesn't even look like himself without it.

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
I remember last year a couple of times where his headband was knocked off his head and He did not give two ****s about picking it up. Usually a teammate throws it back to him or something, otherwise he'll leave it off the whole time.Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
There was a weird stretch of games I wanna say the season before last (or maybe last year) where he didn't wear it... JR wasn't wearing one either during that time I believe. It was only like a week and I think it was a road trip, can't remember though.
Heh, Birdman forgot his hair gel and looked like a schoolboy for about a week on a road trip too ha... played well.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

The Chicago Bulls are interested in trading for the Denver Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony and are discussing internally including Joakim Noah as part of the deal, according to a league source.
According to the source, the Nuggets are hesitant to take back Luol Deng as part of a deal with the Bulls because Denver is leery of taking on long-term contracts with the collective bargaining agreement set to expire on June 30, 2011. Deng is two years into a six-year, $71 million contract.
Noah will make $3.1 million this season in the fourth year of his rookie deal. He would become a restricted free agent next season unless the Bulls extend his contract.
Yahoo! Sports reported Wednesday that an NBA source with knowledge of Anthony's wishes told him Anthony still hopes to convince Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri to trade him, and he prefers a move to the New York Knicks or Bulls.
The Nuggets offered Anthony a three-year, $65 million extension through 2014, but if he rejects it, the team will have to consider trading the forward who has guided them to seven straight playoff berths.
"I think I'm going to convince him to be a Nugget," Ujiri said on Aug. 31. "No, I don't know, I can't make a judgment on that. Like I said, it's a process and until he tells me that ... we want him back, the city wants him back, ownership wants him back."
Anthony has never come out and said he wanted to be traded, however.
At his basketball camp this summer, Anthony dismissed all the speculation of his impending departure from Denver: "I've been hearing that for five years. I'm a Denver Nugget. I'm here, I'm with the Nuggets. I don't become a free agent until next year, if I decide not to take that extension."
Anthony, 26, has averaged 24.7 points per game in his career, including 28.2 last season.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
If the Bulls get Carmelo and he wants to wear his headband, trust me he'll wear it. They let Ben Wallace wear his for a while after the initial complaining about it back when he was here then he stopped wearing it again for whatever reason. The rule was instituted by the team back some years when Eddie Robinson was here because he had a cocky attitude. They look at them as a sign of being 'all about me.' Funny thing is there are four other teams that don't allow headbands. Utah, Miami, Chicago and the Sonics. Two of those teams have since changed those rules. Pat Riley doesn't like headbands because of the same reasons the Bulls banned them, he thinks they represent 'the me generation' of basketball but you can bet your *** LeBron will be sporting his headband on opening night and beyond this year. Superstars can do what they want. If Melo comes to Chicago (which I'm already gonna say ain't happening) if he doesn't address it before he signs his deal it won't even matter cause the Bulls won't be stupid enough to try to tell him he can't wear it and Thibs sure as hell ain't gonna bench him over it like Skiles did Wallace.Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
I really hope we figure out another way to get Melo instead of trading Noah. I really feel like Noah was coming into his own, and has proven himself to be Rodmanish type player. I feel like every team benefits from a guy with his talents. Even though, Melo is one of the top players in the league and still in his prime. Don't repeat a mistake by not trading Noah for Melo just like you didn't trade Deng for Kobe
You have Boozer and Taj. That's fine when you have Rose/Melo as your playmakers.Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
I want Melo here badly, but I'm still not sure about giving up Noah for it. I just don't like the Bulls chances of hanging with the Lakers and Magics of the world without Noah in there doing the work on the glass and defensively. I know he's not like elite or anything like that, but the potential is there and I just don't know who replaces that on the team.
Maybe they can find a partner, get a multi team thing going on that somehow protects Noah. If Melo puts the foot down and says Chicago or nowhere would help to lol.Comment

Melo is a rare player you don't want to pass up on. An all-star caliber player and one of the best scorers in the league. Your in a conference with stacked teams in Boston, Orlando and Miami and the road to the NBA Finals just got harder. Are you going to go into the season with a Rose, Boozer and Noah combo? Or are you going to pull out the big guns with Rose, Melo and Boozer? If I'm going into battle I want the heavy artillery with Rose, Melo and Boozer.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong.
