Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
He's absolutely awesome if he has the right pieces for what he wants to do. When he doesnt, it obviously doesn't work as well. Nash was the ideal guard for his system, and Marion was absolute gold on the perimeter. Factor in getting Diaw's versatility as well and you basically throw positions out the window. I loved how he would just make it work.
My only gripe with him is that he plays a short bench. Gentry uses more of the bench, then again, our bench now is probably better. Gentry isn't as good at recognizing when certain players need to go back in though.
I think the D'Antoni scorn is too much. He'll be good once he gets the right pieces. If they can get Amare a rebounding big to throw next to him, he'll be UNstoppable.Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
I'd like that! Richardson would be a great fit as well. I still prefer Melo BUT Richardson would not be a bad pick-up. However, I wouldn't trade Noah for him. I'd still trade Noah for Melo.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

If the Nets are still interested(which everyone by now knows they are but not for the reason folks think)I'd pull Favors off and replace him with T-Will.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
The Nuggets are done when Carmelo leaves unless they are use to winning with Carmelo sense 03, and make good changes when hes gone. NO MORE are you a LOCK for going to the playoffs every year and giving the best teams in the NBA competative games on a nightly basis. Carmelo Anthony is the only reason players wanna play there and fans wanna go to the games. MSG would be sold out anyway, But I hope this man gets to the Knicks and comes home.Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
Isn't this crazy?... Denver has a good team...Not the best team. They do have some of the talent to contend with the Lakers. It just not working well for some reason (cough Head coach)....But Melo wanting to leave is weird. Like the LeBron situation to a point.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
Not following you. Are you saying that Melo wanted Denver all along? Or you just using that situation to explain how you never know what's going on behind the scenes? The way you have it posted makes it seem like you're saying this situation is similar to that one and I can't see how it is at all lol.Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
Right, and that was just an example of a situation where a behind the scenes situation took place or may have, that looked like Trevor was just being a bum on the surface.
There are probably internal things that are affecting Melo's decision here as well.Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
New Update:
The conflict in what Carmelo Anthony says he wants is right out there in the open after the latest report: Find a way to make the Nuggets the best team in the West this season — so trade for a big asset without trading anything away — or trade me to the Knicks so I can win.
While you’re at it, figure out a way to end the recession, feed everyone on the planet and make iCarly go away.
The New York Post’s Peter Vecsey says he had three one-on-one conversations with Anthony over the past few weeks and came away just as confused as everyone else.“I’m just like LeBron,” Anthony emphasized in the Nuggets’ locker room following Saturday’s practice. “It’s all about winning. That’s all I care about. I want the chance to compete at the championship level. All the other stuff is irrelevant.”Vecsey also came away thinking the Nets were not an option he loved. Of course, if Vecsey had asked the same question the next day, would the answer have been the same?
In my scrawny mind, that quote instantaneously eliminated the Knicks from contention for his revered services…. Don’t reach for your spectacles, you got that right; the Knicks remain a viable option. I repeat, a viable option.
Ask me how Anthony defends those colliding concepts after I speak with him a fourth time in private.
Anthony so far has been all about talking about winning and keeping his options open in public, while the people behind him push for a trade to the Knicks. Or maybe the Bulls, but preferably the Knicks.
Anthony’s best chance at winning frankly comes in Denver, where there is a team that can push the Lakers, something it proved a couple nights ago.But Anthony admitted he told Denver he wants a team that can beat the Lakers this season, by the trade deadline, or he will look elsewhere. Good luck pulling that off, Nuggets.“That’s reality,” Melo said. “Whether I like it or not, or whether they like it not.”Hopefully somewhere, to someone (preferably to Denver’s front office) this is much more clear. Or in some way realistic.
