ANKARA, Turkey -- Allen Iverson scored two points in his Turkish league debut for Besiktas Cola Turka in a 74-67 defeat to defending champion Fenerbahce Ulker on Sunday.

Iverson missed three shots in the first quarter and was taken off with less than a minute left. He returned at the beginning of the second half, but did not score until late in the third. He then returned to the bench for the rest of the game.

Besiktas trailed 40-35 at half time and rallied to tie the score 53-all going into the fourth quarter, but Fenerbahce regained control to maintain its perfect league record.

It was Besiktas' second loss in a week after a 94-91 defeat to Hemofarm Stada in the European Cup on Tuesday, when Iverson scored 15 points on his debut with the team.
Yikes. Glad he's not embarrassing himself in the US. I can't recall ever seeing such a premier guy fall off so far, so fast. In his prime, he was one of my absolute favorite players to watch.

                      Tmac?

Also, it wasnt as bad as that article made it seem.

Wierd rotation as he played every minute in the 1st and 3rd but set out the entire 2nd and 4th...

All his shots were good looks, just didnt knock them down.

It was a pretty physical game (I enjoyed it) they play AI well and when he did get by his man it was called foul.

I think he went 1 for 6 on the game.

                      Def didnt have Marbury's role...

His team played against the defending league champs and it showed.

It was nice to see some Lynn Greer action also

                        does 1 turkish point = 1 U.S. point?
Might be some conversion errors when they report back over here

I think a turkish point is only worth .3 NBA points. So by NBA terms, Iverson went scoreless in his debut.

I say this all the time but NBA players fall off fast. Iverson just has to keep playing because he needs the cash (according to reports this spring) so we get to see this ugliness.

The age of 30 is pretty much a huge hill for 90% of NBA players.

It has to be for the cash, because he didnt work out for 8 months prior to signing.

I know he loves the game and maybe had legit reasons to not working out (family problem or whatever) (save the practice jokes)

He's def not playing in Turkey for the love of the game.
