Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
Before the season began, I really wanted them to trade him and get something for him, preferably Bynum. However, now that the regular season is coming to and end and the Magic are in the #3 seed I say play it out and see what happens.
Only one of two things will happen if they decide not to trade him:
1- They go to the playoffs this year and take one last shot (albeit a loooooong one) at winning a title with the best center in the NBA on the team. Let him walk at the end of the year and take 29 million less dollars than if he were to stay and say, "It's been real." Proceed to dump salary and rebuild.
2- They go to the playoffs this year and take a shot at winning a title with the best center in the NBA on the team. He re-signs and they go for it again for the next 6 seasons with him in the lineup while they try to improve the rest of the team to surround him with. It's not even like they're not already a good team as it is.
I would much prefer option number 2 but if option number 1 happens, I can live with it.Comment

Dwight Howard said he understands that it's risky for Orlando to keep him past the the deadline, but he's hoping the Magic "roll the dice."

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
WOJ article on DuhWIGHT , pretty much sums it up.
Said another official, who has been involved in deal talks with Orlando, New Jersey and the agents in the process: "Dwight is going to [expletive] them, and that will be especially true if he doesn’t even ask for the sign-and-trade on July 1, because he wants Brooklyn to keep assets."#RespectTheCultureComment

Quite clearly, Dwight wants his cake and eat it, too. Some Magic officials privately disgusted with his comments tonight, sources say.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment
