They have enough to be where they are in the East. I know the regular season doesn't matter, but it's working-ish for now. Working enough not to whine and moan about not being surrounded by superstars. Not every team can be Miami.

Well they did make the Finals a few years ago right?

Yeah but that was a few years ago. Don't know off-hand how many guys from now were there even 3 years ago.Comment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
As Wednesday night turned into Thursday morning, Marc Stein reports that the Nets and Magic "were engaged in talks late Wednesday night, with the prospect of at least one more team being recruited into a trade seen as the most likely scenario." Stein added the two teams had been involved in "serious discussions" last week.
Stein quoted "one source close to the process" as saying, "I believe that you will see Dwight traded to New Jersey tomorrow." Stein also reported that the Rockets continue to pursue Dwight Howard without a guarantee.Stein added, "Howard has convinced so many executives around the league that he's determined to leave whoever trades for him and play for the Brooklyn-bound Nets next season.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
No offense Pack as you know I've been pulling for you guys to get to where you wanna be at some point. However, right now, since it's inevitable that he's coming there, I'm really wishing it just happens already and the Nets fail miserably with him there just to stick it to this guy.Comment

Yeah Matrix, just stating that a team featuring Dwight and no other superstar talent got there before, no reason they couldn't again.

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
That ORL team was actually pretty damn good, specifically talking about 2008-2009.
If Nelson didn't go out with an injury.... who knows.
They had two of the better years of Shard and Turk
Had Courtney Lee ballin out
Nelson was an All-Star that year, and he truly deserved to be, but after he got hurt he was never the same, even to this day.
But yeah I think that year was just an anomaly because pretty much all of those support guys either flamed out the year after or are middling in mediocrity now.Comment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
We seen how the freaking Atlanta Hawks figured them out in the Playoffs last year by letting Duhwight get his and shutting down everyone else(Shots no longer falling in). Once they put a stop to that, then you know other teams would follow suit.
I agree with Dre in that it would win them some games in the Regular Season but once the postseason starts, it's hard to think there would be a different result.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
No doubt about it, Dwight is stuck with a team that simply isn't going to even get them past the first round perhaps.
They need to completely rebuild the team from the ground up.
They've been awful since the year they made it to the finals IMO.Comment
