Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread

Tristan Thompson is reportedly going to enter the draft.

Heard it on SportsCentre (Canadian version) so I don't have a link.

Wow neither one of them are ready to go pro yet but this may stem from a lot of players would have been high draft picks coming back. Also they may see next years class and know if they wait then they will drop further down..

Neither one of them are ready for the NBA but they may just do it to become a lottery pick. I don't know if they would be a lottery pick even this year. Thompson may because of the absolute lack of big men in this class(except for Williams and Kanter) but I don't know about Joseph.

TNT is one thing, as he'll probably be a lottery pick for the reasons TB24 stated, but Joseph ? No, he won't even sniff a lottery pick.

Guess this means Hamilton will declare, too.

If Tor, Cle or Sac gets the top pick then it's Irving but what if the Wiz(Wall), Nets(Williams) or Minn(Flynn and the rights to ricky rubio) get the top three picks?
We'll take Irving and trade him to CLE for their pick + player or another pick and take Bismack haha.

In even stranger news Hollis Thompson from GTOWN has decided to enter the draft. There is no chance at all he stays in the draft but he decided to declare anyways.

If you don't know who Thompson is, he is the guy that got replaced by Nate Lubrick(yeah I don't know him either) in the middle of the season. Apparently not being able to keep a spot on your own team= trying to see where you are in the eyes of NBA scouts.

Glad my team doesn't have multiple picks in this draft lol

Any Buckeye fans with an opinion on David Lighty's NBA potential?

The Spurs have said to have interest in him and with their track record in the draft, he perked my interest.

I don't watch a lot college basketball so I haven't seen him play much outside of youtube stuff, but he looks like he could be a potential stopper on the next level. Not much of a scorer but can shoot and handle the ball a little.

I know being an 5th year senior hurts his draft stock, but he could be an instant contributor as a role player for a good team which seems like a steal in the 2nd round of a weak draft.

Jordan Williams has hired an agent and will stay in the Draft.

Dude's making a mistake IMO and wouldn't be surprised to see him either just sitting at the end of the bench, playing in the D League or even out of the league by Year 3.

Jordan Williams is a dumb ***. And Maryland had a chance at being a really, really good team if he stayed. What a freaking waste for both college and pros. Damn.

I think it's either held during the Conference Finals, if I'm not mistaken.

                            It's May 17th according to this http://www.nba.com/2011/news/04/15/d...ies/index.html

Below is the order of selection for the 2011 NBA Draft, as well as the number of chances for teams in the 2011 NBA Draft Lottery, to be held May 17, at the NBA Entertainment studio in Secaucus, New Jersey. The teams entered in the lottery, to be held on May 17, 2011, are as follows (note: the first three picks in the Draft will be determined by the lottery and the remainder of the "lottery teams" will select in positions 4 through 14 in inverse order of their consolidated standings at the end of the regular season):

Justin Harper of Richmond could been a great value pick in the 2nd round. He improved a lot from his freshmen to senior year and put a lot of muscle on his senior year. He can shoot and he is about 6'10, I think he can be a face up 4 in the league.

How bout Jeremy Tyler? 6'11" kid who dropped out of high school to play overseas. He's supposedly a headcase but I'd love it if my team got him in round 2.
