I guess they still have beef from when they were on the same team. Don't know why though.

Shaq and Wade have a beef?.... Are they serious?... I can't imagine Shaq would have a beef with LeBron.

Here is a question that interest me and I haven't seen it anywhere on here:

Did the Celtics losing Thibs have anything to do with the outcome? Thibs, after all, was the man that is credited with running the Celtics defense schematically.

Probably a little bit, but overall no. Perkins leaving, injuries, Green not being able to come right in and produce...

Boston even with the injuries to Shaq/Rondo could have easily won a bunch of games against Miami. They just didn't have that luck/magic/bounces.

That's why I don't disrespect Boston like others have in the LeBron James thread. Someone called Boston a "corpse". Please, that's just ridiculous. They were in 90% of the games against Miami. They just didn't have that extra gear.

That's actually a great question I didn't think of. I think it'd be hard to answer though. They made a bunch of changes that don't seem like much individually, but collectively all probably contributed to the team playing worse. Nate, Allen, Sheed and the overtalked about Perkins... brought in Shaq and JOneal but both dealt with a ton of injuries to effect chemistry and even Shaq not being able to play in the playoffs.

Yep, as I already mentioned in the post, injuries, Perkins and Green not being able to produce all played a role

Great question.. I'd say no after all they were still in the top 3 in all defensive categories. Also they brought in Lawrence Frank to replace Tibs whose a pretty good coach himself.

I think the new additions late in the year affected the defense more than Losing tibs did.

Don't want to rehash that discussion in a different thread, but I don't remember anyone disrespecting Boston the way you're saying here. I think the theme was beating anyone in the 2nd round shouldn't warrant the level of celebration the Heat displayed. The counter point was that the Celtics were a huge monkey on their backs, to which it was said that this banged up version of the Celtics can't be looked at like the teams that beat them.

Teams change parts every year so I'll give you that, but their expected center didn't play and the starting PG drops down to 60% or so and I think it's fair to say this isn't like the Bulls finally beating the Pistons.

I'm hoping they can keep the big 4 together for one last run. Maybe the Basketball Gods will shine down on them for one year and grant no injuries just like in 2008.

Doc at least is trying to rally the troops. PP seemed a bit salty at management regarding if any changes were gonna be made, just how I perceived it. Like he sarcastically said something to effect of 'well changes are probably gonna be made AGAIN'...

If there's a lockout, hell who knows what happens to guys like KG and Timmy. They're somewhat too "young" to retire but what are they gonna do?
