My point: Ive seen bigger celebrations for less. The celebration wasnt that serious IMO
I don't think it was either as I've already said that. But I also didn't really think all of that was necessary but that I wasn't going to tear them apart over 4 minutes of nothing basically lol.

I was just laughing at the part about seeing a bigger celebration in an Opening Night game, which I think is complete BS LOL

I don't think the Heat celebration is a big deal either. I don't think we disagree on it actually. My issue with it is more from a strategic point of view. If I were the Bulls/Hawks I'd be happy to see them so excited about getting out of the 2nd round. They may come out on fire and prove that they were just enjoying the moment and got refocused before the next set of games, but usually a celebration like that screams for a let down going forward. Either way, that's the only criticism I have for it.

I stopped watching the OKC blow out before the final buzzer so I didn't see them celebrating (and haven't been in the other thread). If they celebrated like the Heat did I would actually consider that worse for a number of reasons.
Agreed, especially with the bolded part.

I love when Doc talks with the media. He's pretty much always straightforward and honest.

We don't need any superstars, we need the right pieces to complement those guys so those guys can play less minutes and we can still win games and get to the playoffs healthy.

We can't try to do formula we used this year, just going to get a bunch of veterans and try to get through the regular season, because that doesn't work. In the playoffs now, with all the rule changes, you need athleticism, you need quickness to the ball. And quite honestly we just don't have that. That stood out to me more than anything in this series."

From alot of quotes I've read from players and Coaches and even guys in the Front Office, they sound more confident in having an NBA Season next year than the NFL did. It's almost as if either they're sure there's going to be one or they're not letting it stop them from speaking on future moves.

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - Second Round Discussion Thread

Celebration isn't exactly reserved for only special occasions. The Dallas Mavericks went crazy beating the Lakers. We've seen major celebrations from teams just winning a game (Brandon Roy's close out clutch performance coming to mind). But just like in sports culture these days, it's a game of pick and choose what you don't care about to mention and what to turn into a talking point.

It's not like, you know, great teams who didn't win chips weren't celebrating victories. Utah did it when they finally broke through and went to the Finals. That same series, Eddie Johnson strutted down the court after hitting a clutch three. Larry Johnson went crazy on a four point play in a nonclinching game.

They put in the work, they're the ones out their gutting it out and reaching for the moment. If people were robotic, they'd be slammed for not having enough passion for the game. If they get emotional, well, we see this.

Anybody, you know, watch this stuff to see great things happen and have fun? Lord.

Problem with that is, Danny Ainge keeps doing the opposite with his trades

Not completely. You could definitely argue that Jeff Green hasn't complemented the Celtics, but he's definitely young and has pretty good athleticism if I remember right.

I know this has been stated a few times, and it's pretty old now, but I wanted to again say that I have a lot of respect for Ray Allen. I'm pretty surprised he didn't stand by his boys PP and KG and walk off the court with them rather than congratulating the Heat. Classy dude. Still one of my favorite players in the NBA, and he's the reason I became a Bucks fan.

Ainge wore those guys out last year as well not getting enough pieces to get those guys rest. They were playing some very heavy minutes and he did practically nothing to minimize that.

This year he gave up not only Perk, but Nate, Daniels, and two more big men on top of that only to have Big Baby running the show out there

Ainge already has one foot out the door when it comes to this current Celtics squad. Why do you think Perkins was dealt? To make flexibility in the future.

On one hand I can't blame him, because he played for a team that waited too long to begin moving towards the future.

True, I wasn't really thinking of the minutes part, just the "adding younger, athletic players" part.

Oh so now we're gonna act as if Kendrick Perkins would have been irrelevant. Interesting.

He didn't shut ZBO down twice already or anything.

Boston didn't even need a 100% healthy Kendrick to give them enough...

People gonna act as if Miami routed Boston or that the games weren't close. Interesting.

Saw that Rose has a chance tonight to become the first player in history to score 30 or more with at least 7 assists in four straight playoff game.

That would be a pretty cool accomplishment.
