What's "wow" for? Actually, don't really understand the entire reply.

The wow is for the fact that someone had the nerve to call Boston "corpses" in the LeBron James thread.

My reply was to your point about "I didn't see anyone disrespect the C's to the extent you were talking about".

I then pointed out that in the LeBron thread, you'll see a guy who called them corpses. You'll see someone say they're old, undermanned and injured [somewhat true, but overall still doesn't mean Boston wasn't formidable].

That's besides my answer to OSU's question anyway. The reason Boston lost wasn't because of the loss of coach Thibbs, it was because they traded Perkins, Shaq got injured, Rondo got injured and that Green unfortunately couldn't be a super sub they needed.

I think losing perkins and then rondo really hurt this team in the long run.

Old:
The only game they won was the game they had that long and fortunate break. At times the big three looked out of juice. As you said, they didn't have that extra great which has to come from somewhere.

Undermanned:
Put too much faith into Shaq, Doc said so himself. One advantage Boston had over Miami going into this series was bench production and didn't play out. Davis was MIA, Green showed spurts here and there and not sure why Murphy got no play. I understand he missed a lot of the season but he's a big that can spread the floor and rebound.

Injured:
* Rondo
* Shaq
* West

With that I'm not taking anything away from Miami, they played great basketball at times and LBJ and Wade stepped up big time. With Boston, it is what it is.

I didn't though, lol. I said it's somewhat true, but to the overall point, they're still very formidable despite those things. So regardless of how true or untrue it is, as long as people agree that they were formidable you get no argument from me.

Gotcha. Guess I just missed that post. The other comments I think are fine in that they support the idea that it's not the team that deserves that kind of celebration... but the "corpses" comment had to be one of those exaggerations that seem to fly around here too much.

The response to OSU was pretty much the same as mine. Those things plus the roster moves they made before the season even started.

You've said this alot, lol. If Shaq and JOneal were healthy I have no doubt they wouldn't have missed Perkins at all. I'm also not convinced that not having Sheed played a bigger role than we know. If Perkins "leadership" caused that much of a stir then this Celtics team isn't anywhere close to as strong as I thought they were. The only reason I think not having Perkins did have an effect is bc they were stuck with guys that couldn't stay healthy to play down low.

3 teams left in the playoffs are missing starters, I wont the even mention teams with dinged up contributers....lol

IMO if we start trying to take away from victories because of that, we could go all night

Did the Celtics losing Thibs have anything to do with the outcome? Thibs, after all, was the man that is credited with running the Celtics defense schematically.

No not really, Boston is just old and Rondo got hurt.

Formidable no doubt but just too many factors to overcome against a young team filled with two of the best players in the game today. Plus Joel was huge for Miami.

Everyone healthy, I would've bet them as the favorites to get to the championship. So that's not to say they became hot garbage with the injuries (and I think the age is exposed more bc the injuries adjusted everyone's minutes) but I think that's where it makes a difference. Lets say the series went from a push to Miami's favorite.

So, since Miami is the new scapegoat and the media is just looking for reasons to trash them, what will the media say if Miami wins the title?

It wasn't legit because they didn't go through the Lakers?

That's part of the reason I'm asking - He seemed to be effective last night but he wasn't really given a chance otherwise.
