So, since Miami is the new scapegoat and the media is just looking for reasons to trash them, what will the media say if Miami wins the title?

It wasn't legit because they didn't go through the Lakers?

They cheated because they decided to play together?

Not sure what the relevance is. The Heat beat the Celtics... period. I don't understand why they celebrated like they won the championship. If the closest thing to a legit excuse for it is bc the monkey is off their back, I don't agree bc:

A) The Celtics team they beat is a shell of the teams that beat them in the past.
B) The Heat super team was built to win the championship so that's the only thing they should be celebrating and shouldn't be that proud about winning a 2nd round series.

Neither situations apply to the Thunder or Bulls... and neither team partied like it's 1999 after winning a playoff series.

That's part of the reason I'm asking - He seemed to be effective last night but he wasn't really given a chance otherwise.

I see, good point. I don't know why they didn't use him more. He's not a bad player... gives more on offense than D but it's not like the same isn't true for Davis, Shaq or JOneal.

but you answered my question. they won, period. I thought the C's roster was supposed to be some kind of excuse. misunderstood then.

I respect your opinion on the heats celebration, just disagree....ive seen bigger celebrations on opening night....but hey.

1. Perkins wouldn't have made any difference out there, unless he all of a sudden could start guarding 2s and 3s overnight now.

2. 24, if it makes you happy, I didn't like how the Thunder celebrated last night either. It was one of the worst things I've ever seen done in Professional Basketball. In the words of Joe Buck, it was "a disgusting act".

I'm just going to assume he's talking about it taking place in different sports or something he seen at The Y because I ain't NEVER seen a team breakdown in tears or get on one knee or kiss the ground after winning the FIRST game of the year

Well you obviously understand exaggeration. (see your #2) So while I actually could probably find you a bigger celebration than a kneel down, teamate hug, then thanking the other team in an opening night end of game sequence....I dont have access to any, lol...

Oh, you talking about when teams have Balloons and Confetti and that other stuff falling down? I seriously want to see this though because I don't think I've ever seen it happen in Professional Sports.

I've seen it happen in pickup games and Rec Leagues from little kids though

The roster isn't an excuse for me... I won't speak for anyone else since I already missed Ex's example of them being corpses. I'm on your side in that regard.

I don't think the Heat celebration is a big deal either. I don't think we disagree on it actually. My issue with it is more from a strategic point of view. If I were the Bulls/Hawks I'd be happy to see them so excited about getting out of the 2nd round. They may come out on fire and prove that they were just enjoying the moment and got refocused before the next set of games, but usually a celebration like that screams for a let down going forward. Either way, that's the only criticism I have for it.

I stopped watching the OKC blow out before the final buzzer so I didn't see them celebrating (and haven't been in the other thread). If they celebrated like the Heat did I would actually consider that worse for a number of reasons.

Ok, I can understand what you mean there.

Only time will tell. If they think this is THE hurdle they needed to jump they are in trouble. They most likely have a MVP coming their way.
