I think that GS should give it a year and see if the Curry/Ellis dynamic can work with Jackson. If it's clear in February it isn't going to work, they can trade him then and still pick up a quality piece from a contender.

Pietrus picks up his option for next year (obviously), but agent says he expects Suns to make deals soon.

Suns' Pietrus Picks Up Option; Agent Expect Draft-Day Trade

(Agent Bill) McCandless said he and Pietrus are aware of the possibility of a Suns trade to better balance their roster.
"I'll be surprised if Lon (Babby, Suns president of basketball operations) doesn't make a couple deals on draft day or later," McCandless said. "If you have a surplus in one position and a need in another, guess what?

Barbosa might make more over the next five years in Brazil as the country's best player than he would grinding it out as an 8th man in the NBA. Walking away from over $7M sounds like a tough pill to swallow, but he must have the potential to make a lot more if he's willing to do it.

Here's what I think will happen:

-Knicks to sign Wilson Chandler on MLE
-Knicks to draft Kenneth Faried or Josh Selby
-Knicks to trade away their 2nd round pick for cash (if they have a 2nd round pick)

-Nets resign Derron Williams, Kris Humphries, and Sasha Vujacic
            -Nets sign J.R. Smith
-Nets Sign AK47 (im 100% positive it will happen)

            -Atlanta Hawks trade Josh Smith
            -Atlanta Hawks resign Jamal Crawford

Just saw it on the SC Ticker that Dwight Howard will not be signing an extension and will become a Free Agent at the end of the year. Not that it applies to this season, but it sort of does. Says that he wants to stay with the Magic, but they need to make an overhaul to the roster.

                  Interesting.

I think we all should have seen this coming.

That roster is atrocious. Just atrocious. They're not gonna be able to do diddly with that.

"They need to overhaul that roster" is a massive understatement.

Good luck keeping Dwight, Orlando. He's as good as gone. And no, quite frankly I don't give a damb if he comes to Los Angeles or not. I don't care to see that. Go somewhere else bruh.

Bobcats hire Rich Cho as GM.
(I don't think this needs it's own thread so I'll stick it in here)

Just three weeks after he is fired by the Trail Blazers, Cho becomes the right-hand man of Bobcats owner Michael Jordan.

                        Why?????

There'd be no carrying the ball or ISO plays for him and when LeBron and Wade have the ball he'd be off the court as they need shooters around them...there'd literally be no role for him.

His 'best fit' is probably Chicago as they desperately need a SG.

Looks like we'll be getting the "Who's going to trade for Dwight Howard" watch this year. If we have a season.

The Bulls will either have to trade CJ Watson or bump him down the rotation. Because the only slot I see Iverson on the Bulls is as the 3rd guard. He could be like a Vinny Johnson-type player coming off the bench. To all my old school basketball heads, yall remember 'The Microwave'.

Iverson would blow the Berto Center to pieces, slit Coach Thibs' throat and shoot Derrick Rose in the knee before he came off the bench without endlessly bitching about it. Don't even think of asking him to be the 3rd guard. Would not be pretty in the Chi.

As for Dwight. Time to live up to his statement of not following Shaq's path and demand a trade to the Bulls. I want that man in red and black by the trade deadline...if there is one.

Yeah, 'Lando doesn't have what it needs to give Dwightasaurusrex a reason to stay patrolling their paint. I wonder if Orlando has the steel nerves to let this play out to free agency and try to bring him back, as opposed to dumping him off for a return before it's too late.
