They have over 65 million dollars locked up in 5 players until like 2016. If they drop the Hard Cap, they are screwed even more than they are now in the terms of going out and getting another difference maker.

They are going to have to settle for those 5 and whatever has beens they can scoop up for Vet Mins. Also they aren't going to be able to trade anybody, they have no valuable trade pieces and in 2 years NO ONE is going to want Mike Miller's contract. That's assuming anyone wants it now which is highly unlikely.

Oh yeah, and they don't have a first round pick in the draft for the next 3 years.
        Who cares man?

utexas didnt say anything crazy....wishful thinking maybe..

who knows what can happen though, GMs always have a way of figuring things out. I saw plenty of long drawn out posts on here last summer about how it was "impossible" to get Bosh, Wade and James on the same team in the first place.

The Heat are going to find it very hard to build. The key guy for them is Mike Miller in a lot of ways. When fit and at his best, he's an excellent shooter and gives them what they need around the big 3.

Going on this season though........it looks like he's done.

If so, that's a bad, bad, bad contract and will really hamper them going forward.

Unless guys want to go there for absolute bottom salary...they are going to find it hard to recruit anyone for a few years outside of guys on their absolute last legs (a la Z, Bibby, Juwan Howard, Magloire etc...i.e. washed up vets who are just hoping to ride the big 3 for a ring). Anyone good enough to still command a nice salary isn't going there.

The Warriors proposed a trade to the Magic.

Ellis, Biedrins, and Udoh for Howard

              Magic, of course, declined

Wow. Yeah, nice try though. I don't know what the Magic are going to get in return for Howard though.

OKC can offer them the best package by far.

Magic would get to rebuild around Westbrook and Ibeka...a stud PG and a young big with huge potential = best deal Orlando could hope for IMO.

OKC gets Howard to team with Durant for their primes. They'd be a beast.

****, if I'm OKC I just take Nelson/Howard for WB/Ibaka/Harden and call it a day.

Everyone on OKC is replaceable outside of Durant.

OKC can do that, but I think losing Harden is borderline detrimental.

If anything it may be overkill, but not detrimental IMO.

He's replaceable. Harden is destined to be a good third wheel, nothing more. Just my opinion of course, but I don't think he has 2nd banana DNA in him.

I don't think hes a superstar, but losing 3 starting quality guys for Jameer and Howard? Howard is fantastic, but Harden is way more valuable than Jameer. Westbrook isn't a bad starting point for a team, by any means. The trick would be that WB's contract will be up, and from what I've gauged there are alot of people thinking he will want to move back out west (Clippers/Lakers). Personally, Blake + WB = A very happen NBA fan. Lots of speculation there, but just an example of why it's dangerous to grab WB in that deal, as well.

Of course Harden is more valuable than Nelson.

Howard can be more valuable than all three of Harden/Ibaka/WB

Nelson may be a much better fit for KD. They can add some other veteran for a spark off the bench. They could retain Collison and still have a recovering Perkins.

Trust me I love WB and OKC youngins, I would only pull the trigger for Howard.

Anyway I think this tread isn't meant for this type of discussion so I'll wait until there's some sort of rumor at least before I talk about possibilities.

Howard is priceless. There is NOBODY in the NBA like him. If I was OKC I would trade Westbrook, Serge, and Harden for Dwight and nelson.

Dwight easily fills anything serge brought to the table. And even though they are losing a tremendous talent in westbrook, nelson does fit better with Durant and Howard's gamestyle.

If I was Orlando I would make them take Gil if the contracts workout.

Enough of that though, were not supposed to talk about hypotheticals.
