I think the Pacers really want Kanter, and would be willing to part with Hibbert to get him.

That's aboslutely crazy... not sure why theyd want to swap Hibbert for Kanter, especially after hearing how poorly he's played out in all of this pre-draft madness.

Omg if I'm Minnesota I would do that deal as fast as possible. A trade like that could really solve a lot of their issues. You figure they could probably come out with Hibbert and then Marshon Brooks or something if they make that deal. That would be huge.

I agree, thatd be a great trade for Minny, but I still struggle to see the strength of the trade on Indy's side.

Marshon Brooks would be a solid pickup, seems he's gained alot of steam going into the draft. Hibbert to boot.

Easy. So to avoid having to pay Hibbert substantially more money in the near future when it's time to negotiate with his agent(s) on what would be his relatively large second contract.

See, a big-money contract extension offer isn't in the plans if the team doesn't figure the young player will develop into a star, and that's what I think is the Pacers feelings of Hibbert. Thus, swapping Hibbert for Kanter allows the Pacers to keep roughly similar skill and talent coming from the center position, but pay far less for it since Kanter will play under a rookie contract instead.

And I don't really take a lot of the workout report news seriously as a lot of that information turns out to be smokescreens anyway. It's mostly what takes place behind closed doors in private workouts away from the media and press that determines how much interest a team has in a prospect.

The swapping of contracts was my initial thought, but even still, I didn't think Hibbert was BAD by any means. He plays like 25-30 minutes a game and produces well in those time frames, given more playing time and experience he can be an above average quality big, in my opinion. I just struggle to see how bringing youth to the Pacers fixes anything. They're a hard nose team who gave the Bulls a run for their money, with some adjustments I see the Pacers as a strong 4-6 seed out East. Not sure Hibbert for Kanter makes that happen, but financially I see why they would.

LA do what you can to get him, which I'm not too sure what exactly you have to offer, lol

Both the Lakers and Kings have interest in trading with the Nuggets for Raymond Felton.

Felton was acquired by Denver in the Carmelo Anthony trade, but is considered less valuable to the team than Ty Lawson.

Felton will be a free agent after the 11-12 season.

Looks like the T-Wolves is offering the number 2 pick to the Lakers for Bynum.

Minnesota has been actively shopping the number two pick in hopes of acquiring a proven veteran.

It's not only youth that would be served with this deal. It would also allow more financial flexibility to make other moves too. As an example, the Pacers will eventually have to re-up with Danny Granger, so the team will need to immediately figure out how much to give him and the numer of years to tack on. And we know it certainly won't be cheap for the Pacers to keep him.

At any rate, Hibbert has made steady progress and has actually developed into a decent NBA player -- better than I personally thought he would ever be coming into the league. However, the guy is not an irreplaceable franchise-building level talent by any means. He has likely reached his ceiling at this point of his career.

And who knows... Kanter could actually develop into that star center status that the Pacers previously envisioned with Hibbert.

I hear you, I like Hibberts game so maybe that's why I can't help but scratch my head, but your points are all valid reasons. I think they'd need more of a package between the two as opposed to straight up, but it's passable. Big Kanter gamble though.

Looks like Josh Smith might be looking for a way out:

The Hawks have begun exploring a trade involving Josh Smith, according to sources.

Smith, meanwhile, has privately told friends that the Celtics, Nets, Rockets and Magic are his preferred teams should Atlanta ultimately decide to trade him.

“The relationship has run its course,” said a league source with knowledge of the dynamic.
                            Hammond on the Bogut rumors:

"There's no truth to any of these false rumors that have been reported,"

Who do they give up for Smith though? Davis or Green and a pick I'd assume. I don't see them trading KG, but after shipping Perkins off, you never know.
