I don't know the numbers, but I would guess that this would provide some sort of flexibility to bring back Chandler and Barea while still keeping a serviceable SF/PF in Williams? Perhaps Dallas thinks Mahinmi will develop into a Brandon Haywood role and that Dom Jones can develop into a Beausbois role?

Probably. But from DAL standpoint I'd rather have Butler by a mile.

      Interesting potential deal though.

But I guess it makes sense money wise if they want to keep JJ and Chandler.

I think that's a given. However, you factor in Marvin is younger, and is getting paid around 7 mil a year. I would assume Butler is looking for more money than that. Not to mention this deal allows Dallas to get out of their 6 year deal with Haywood.

However, I just plugged it into the NBA Trade Machine and it says Orlando needs to cut 7 mil from the incoming guys in order for the trade to work, so I think there's something else that would have to be involved that we haven't heard of yet unless the NBA Trade Machine just doesn't work.

They're getting paid about the same amount, but Haywood's is over 6 years according to the trade machine, while Williams is over 4 years.

Looks like that 3way was exactly a rumor...

According to my sources Celtics appear to be the front-runner to acquire Josh Smith.. The 3 team deal between Mavs/ Magic/ Hawks are dead.

I would have to think that whatever Boston offers would have to be a 3 way deal too because I don't see what they can offer outside of the Big 4. Green's a RFA and they only have maybe 7 other guys under contract? They have 8 guys with expiring contracts, with Green being one of them.

I remember Mark Cuban saying he wouldn't trade Roddy for anyone in the league last year.

But Tony Parker on the chop block... Not too much of a shocker.

Nash would have been a great mentor for Rubio but not at the price of a #2 pick. Plus Nash can still ball so no point to pack it in to a lottery team yet.

That might be the worst rumor we see all summer long.

Not sure if it belongs here or not, but I was listening to a Bill Simmons podcast last night (my brother left it on when he fell asleep), and Chad Ford was on the show. He basically said that the only way Dwight Howard will end up in Los Angeles is if LA sends Orlando Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol, AND Lamar Odom, while also taking on Gilbert Arenas' contract.

His justification was actually pretty good too. He said something like, "If I'm Otis Smith, this is the only way I trade Dwight to LA, because I know that the only chance Dwight has of ending up in LA is through a trade. They don't have the financial capability to even come close to offering him a contract, and I know Dwight won't go to another mid-market team, so if he leaves, he's going to Boston, New York, Chicago, or LA. And LA's only chance is through a trade, so I can pretty much bully them into giving us all 3 of those guys or Dwight simply won't be a Laker."

He went on to add that he doesn't think any of those 4 teams can afford Dwight and that he thinks Otis will rely on that fact and hang onto Dwight because he doesn't think Dwight will be able to leave.

Chad Ford is obsessed with Dwight though. He would include his family in that deal if you could get it done.

That's beyond bullying though. Not only would LAL give up their entire front line and main player from the bench but also take on that horrible contract.

Plus, the ability to bully decreases unless Dwight says he will only accept a S&T to LAL and that's it.

Even though I'm a big TP fan his gossip ish was a distraction during the season and he seemingly gave up on the Spurs with his comments after the season ended. I've fully expected them to deal him for some time now.

I'd take Rubio and Minny's #2 for him.
