As for Dwight. Time to live up to his statement of not following Shaq's path and demand a trade to the Bulls. I want that man in red and black by the trade deadline...if there is one.
You and me both! If the Bulls can somehow rob them of Howard without trading Deng or Taj, expect a SERIOUS run at the title.

76ers will tender offers to Young and Hawes this week. Also Pietrus will exercise his PO and return to the Suns.

The Nets Owner is wants a super team so bad so he can compete with the knicks when they move to Brooklyn so i think he'll go hard after Dwight Howard real hard.

        Maybe offer
        Brook Lopez - 3 million
        Anthony Morrow- 4 million
        Jordan Farmar - 4 Million
        Travis Outlaw - 7 million
        and 1st round picks
        for
        Dwight Howard - 18 million
        Earl Clark - 1 million

Why would Orlando take on Outlaw's long contract?

With that if I'm Orlando and this gets series, I try to package Gilbert somehow. It might be impossible because that's a lot of money moving though.

I dunno man, I think Orlando can do better... Lopez lost a huge amount of stock last year, and those role players don't do much but take up salary and years.

I agree, Lando can do better than that.

"Lando" is a fool and we all know he might be stubborn enough to have Dwight walk for nothing while taking on more ludicrous contracts.

I can't imagine they'll play chicken down to the point that Dwight walks for nothing. That would be franchise suicide. Unless they can really do something to improve the quality of being an Orlando Magic player, Dwight will leave. He's made it clear he wants to be there, but he needs the organization to give him enough reason to stay (I think everyone can agree it's not Dwight's fault for looking for greener pastures at this point. Look at that support, if you can call it that.).

I mean really... if Orlando lets Dwight walk for nothing....

Because it's Orlando, because they have a new arena I don't think it would be franchise suicide to let Dwight walk for nothing.

Hell after Shaq left, it took what, 4-5 years for them to land Grant Hill and Tracy McGray with the chance of Tim Duncan too? I believe Orlando is a desirable Free Agent location and I do believe players would go there over other cities.

In the end they better at least get what Denver got for Melo. A bunch of young prospects who are at least super good role players and a bunch of first round picks. And also they better include Gilbert and/or Turk

Otis Smith though, we'll see. I'm not sure what they can even do at this point. They don't have any interesting tradable assets.

I like Anderson though but that's not enough to get anyone of big value. Reddick is overpaid. Orlando is in a lot of trouble. They're in a lot of money and have barely any flexibly in the trading department. Who knows if they even bring J-Rich back but at this point.

But the bigger question is do you even bring him back? J-Rich won't be enough to contend and that alone will result in Dwight leaving and now you're stuck with another contract.

This is an excellent point - Orlando has to either find a way to compete, or find a way to clear the slate and start over. There's no reason to continue floating about the playoffs and arbitrarily winning games without any real shot at the NBA title. No reason to lock up Dwight to a max contract unless you have a plan that isn't just in a dream bubble above their hands. They need a tangible plan for themselves if they want to sign Dwight on the books, and they need to sell that plan to Dwight to top it off.

I dont think they'd EVER have an issue finding a trade partner for Dwight though even if they did sign him and lack the pieces to contend.

EDIT: I misread your post, but I think it's a point worth kicking around regardless.

Why would he want to play with an aging Kobe when he can play with D. Rose! Either way I doubt he's doing the MLE with anyone. He probably wants to get paid.

I don't think they can make a real plan to Dwight just because of the high difficulty of acquiring talent. Unless a miracle happens during the summer it may be time to start starting from scrap. No resigning J-Rich and trying to move Dwight (with Arenas hopefully) for youth and salary relief.

Definitely time to move Dwight for youth/salary if they can't turn poison into wine over the next few months. Just going to be hard to move him unless they get the extension - not alot of teams willing to move boulders for him without the guarantee he will stick around once the season ends. My initial thought is Cavs 1st + Hickson (Assuming Cav's can grab Kanter at the 4th pick) for Dwight + ?, but Dwight would never agree to an extension there, so it's null and void. Going to think on this some more, got plenty of time I suppose.
