In my opinion Otis Smith took his chance with that deal early lost and he's screwed. He needs to wake up smell the coffee and get what he can for Howard. They are too invested in bad deals to make any major moves that would make Dwight happy.

Smart thing now is to use Howard to dump Arenas deal and look to start fresh.
You looking at the Chair MAN!

Number may not tell the whole story ,but they never lie either.

Definitely need to get rid of contracts when they trade Dwight out, Arenas in particular. Fancy player option you got there, Gilbert.

What about a trade scenario like this would happen between the Heat and Magics

Miami Gets: Dwight Howard and Daniel Orton (just to even out the cap)

Orlando Gets: Chris Bosh, Joel Anthony (or Udonis Haslem), Mario Chalmers
        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
or maybe a 3 way deal between Orlando, Miami, and Detroit

Miami Gets: Dwight Howard and Daniel Orton (to even out the Cap)

Orlando Gets: Chris Bosh, Joel Anthony (or Udonis Haslem), Detroit Pistons 2012 first round pick (more likely 2013, because of the talent value in the 2012 draft)

        Detroit Gets: Mario Chalmers

Don't know why Orlando would want bosh if they aren't contending with Dwight as is stands. Still have to pay bosh and he isn't a #1 kind of guy. Youth, cap relief.

Gortat, Childress, Vince's expiring contract, Suns 2011 pick, Suns unprotected 2012 (or 2013, you cant trade consecutives, right?) for Howard and Arenas.

              Yay!

                Bulls Receive:
                Dwight Howard
                Quentin Richardson

                Orlando Receives
                Joakim Noah
                Taj Gibson
                Ronnie Brewer
                Kyle Korver
                Keith Bogans
And maybe a pick or two

                Chicago Bulls
                Chicago Bears
                Wisconsin Badgers

Depending on whether or not you think the trade is fair you could adjust the picks and also throw in Asik instead of Boges
                  Chicago Bulls

I wouldnt do that if I were Chicago. That's like, the DEFINITION of going "all-in", which is only something a team that isnt young as hell would do.

I see where you're coming from, but I feel it would be best if Chicago did that trade.

The Bulls would be losing a lot of their depth and hard working players (Noah, Taj, Brewer, Bogans). But players like Howard are so rare nowadays, that I think his impact on the Bulls would be greater than the players they're trading.

It would also help them a lot in trying to beat Miami, and their starting lineup would be better than what it was before.

                      Rose/FA or QRich/deng/Booz/Howard

It would pain me to give all those players up, but it is easier to find role players than it is to find stars and unless they are able to find a elite SG for a cheap price than I don't think they will be able to beat Miami in the future who will keep adding role-players and quality pieces.

I would if I was Chicago. In basketball you get your core stars then build around that. You can always find more role players. Having Rose and Howard for years would be huge for the Bulls.

I completely agree with this. Players with Dwight Howard's effect on a game don't come along often, especially with the center position being so weak right now in the NBA. This would also help them a ton in getting over Miami for future years.

That's a scary thought. You would have Rose a young guy who's in the discusson as best at his position and Howard who is head and shoulders the best at his position.

The trade would leave the Bulls starting lineup significantly better than what it was before.

Dwight Howard is a better defender, offensive player, and rebounder than Noah. Noah beats him in heart and passion though.

                              Rose
                              ????
                              Deng
                              Booz
                              Howard

With the SG spot they could probably find a vet who's willing to take less to ring chase or they could do fine with a knock down shooter who would help space the floor for Howard/Booz/Rose

                              EDIT: Make this happen GarPAx
